    • The vid tells us very little. It seems Sergio's okay, but the proof is in the putting. Let's see how those knees hold up. If they do, it's gonna be a long night for Cotto.

You think Martinez wont be throwing punches of his own?
Martinez is strong, used to fighting considerably bigger guys. A small guy like Cotto would be a complete fool to go out there brawling.
The only way Martinez loses is if his knees are toast and he cant stay on his feet. Other than that skill, IQ, speed, size, strenght, its all against Cotto.

As ever the revisionism with Cotto is incredible. There's always some excuse when he gets spanked. He gets a new trainer, beats a shop dummy, then suddenly he is back to some P4P wrecking machine....until he gets another pasting. Rinse and repeat.

Serg has a lot of turnover in his punches. Looks to me like they are training to counter over Cotto's jab. One would hope Maravilla doesn't stop and look when he lands a counter though.. I thought his balance looked maybe a tad off ...leaning too far forward after the counter...

Anyway... Maravilla should win this. It's his fight to lose.
Your posts are always enjoyable -- this is another. For some reason, however, I feel like Sergio has only a puncher's chance in this bout. A huge possibility, yes, but still just a puncher's chance.

Cotto is an experienced, veteran champ who can fight well on the inside and outside, possesses a strong jab, has decent pop and is adept at boxing or brawling. I think when he's focused and has the right training, he's a problem for anybody -- he's proved this many times. If Martinez can't hurt him or stop him, he's in for a long night. Of course it's likely Martinez does one or the other but I can't see him outboxing Cotto for 12 rounds, not at this stage of his career.

"Champ"? What belt does Cotto currently hold?
A size 37 from Dolce & Gabbana, that the only belt Cotto has.
Sergio Martinez is the only real Champion in that ring. Side B my ass
