as a boxing fan i am so disappointed that myself and fellow boxing fans have to pay to see the number 1 p4p fighter in the sport fight a guy who's not even in the top 5 of his own division.

Yeah, it's possible I guess. I didn't even check yet but if the Superbowl is coming on CBS, that is a potential since they own Showtime. It would be kind of weird for them to let someone promote something that wasn't coming on their network but who knows....you might be right, maybe that is the plan.

Floyd should just fight Zimmerman instead

          Football (Soccer) World Cup final.

To the other people who suggested it...Matthysse, Lara and Mundine are not well known to the US casual fan. You'd be better off suggesting Malignaggi.
Oh, yeah, I know the Cup is a big thing I said in the world but was thinking in the States. I can imagine a lot of Europeans don't really know much or really care about American football. All the major shows that normally come on Sunday nights are all bumped to next week because the networks know that the ratings would be in the trashcan this weekend if they aired.

I think that was the main point of the offer. Shut Floyd up a little bit. I doubt Pac seriously thought Floyd would accept, but knew Floyd couldn't really answer without looking like a fool.
The only thing Floyd's been using his twitter feed has been trying to sell some terrible looking TMT gear.

That belongs to the World Cup Final/Champions League Final. Outside of the States, the relevance of that event falls SIGNIFICANTLY. Football is BY FAR the biggest sport in the world.

i know for a fact that they gauge the popularity of these fights by being in contact with the major vegas hotels. they use those numbers to set ticket prices.

i'm convinced that enough complaining on the internet is what moved broner - maidana off of ppv.
Absolutely, I mean how else are they going to see how the "fans" feel about certain fights. Now, I'm not saying that Floyd has an account on here and he spends hours trolling threads or anything but I'm sure someone on his team goes through and reads the posts and lets Floyd know about the ones that stick out.

I don't think its delaying an announcement but there are some other PPV events in April that could affect the Mayweather fight. PAC/Bradley on April 12th will get a lot of hype after the first fight, people will want to see and could do decent numbers. Plus you have a UFC PPV with Jon Bones Jones on the 26th, just a week before. While there may not be a lot of overlap with the hardcore the casual fans may tune into both in April and may have reservations buying another PPV in May with all the negative attention coming from a Khan fight.
