Comments Thread For: Bryant Jennings-Mike Perez is Ordered By The WBC

According to Tom Loeffler, the managing director of K2 Promotions, has revealed that the World Boxing Council has ordered an eliminator between heavyweights Bryant Jennings (18-0, 10 KOs), ranked at 4, and number 5 ranked Mike Perez (20-0-1, 12 KOs). The winner would fall in line to get a shot at the world crown, which is currently vacant. The WBC has already ordered Chris Arreola and Bermane Stiverne to battle in a rematch for the vacant belt, which Vitali Klitschko vacated to focus on his political career.

Book it for the April HBO card at the MSG Theatre.

    Gennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Geale
    Bryant Jennings vs. Mike Perez

That's what I would suspect the World Championship Boxing card to be.

Just because the WBC ordered it, doesn't mean we should run out and buy tickets. Both fighters would need to think the fight is in their best interest and sign the contract. With three other ranking bodies out there, they may decide to go another route.

Jennings will win... Sorry, Abel... But Mike Perez lost all hunger and killer instinct after the Mago fight. He doesn't have it in him anymore to cause damage and that won't take you far in the boxing game. That won't help you overcome adversity when it presents itself in a fight, and it always does.

Perez didn't look good at all last time out. He needs to get back to his Mago form otherwise Bryant Jennings will beat him easy.

It seems like the Mago tragedy had a huge effect on Mike Perez. I don't know if he'll ever be the same.

If Perez vs. Jennings does go down I'll be rooting for Perez. Based on each guy's last performance I give Jennings the slight edge over Perez.

I got Perez in this one.fatigue was the only issue in his last fight.with better conditioning his punch output and effectiveness will be as it was against Mago.

Jennings looked good last outing, but a fully prepared fully focused Perez would have destroyed The Pin in brutal fashion.Jennings did look polished but h doesn't have that nasty streak or killer finish in him for me.Perez does,or at least had.

I think their is more to come from both, but I lean towards Perez on boxing ability and his steel like toughness.I don't see those qualities in Jennings.

The heavyweight division is sure heating up...

With Vitali out, Wlad on his way - it's all up for grabs. I like Perez in this fight on points, he's got the ability to stay out of trouble and box Jennings.

Perez has to get over Mango. When he fought a couple weeks ago, he didn't have the same aggression or the machishmo that he displayed in the Mago fight . It isn't his job to protect his opponent! How does he know that Mago's injury wasn't the accumulation of shots taken over his entire career?
