Comments Thread For: Barthelemy Promises a Vicious KO of Mendez in Rematch

Crowned, and then uncrowned, IBF Junior Lightweight champion Rances "Kid Blast" Barthelemy (19-0, 12 KOs) is having two reactions to the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry's decision to change his January 3 title-winning and devastating KO over former, and now current, champ Argenis Mendez to a "No Decision."

"First off, I could not disagree more," said Barthelemy. "This decision to take away my title is a terrible one. The referee did not call a foul that night, so how can a commissioner over-rule him by watching TV, weeks later? I am better stronger and more talented than him and I knocked him out. Now I have to do it again."

I believe Barthelemy. He will dish out some serious damage if the rematch happens. I am skeptical that it happens though. Hopefully, it will and this can be settled once and for all.

I hope Barthelemy doesnt go in the rematch just looking for the kill. It could backfire on him. He needs to go in there WELL PREPARED and with the same mentality as the first fight. If he has a half assed camp just cause he thinks Mendez will be easy work then he's gonna have a long night.

Yeah, I'm thinking along the same lines. Rances needs to put the decision behind him and just go to work. The KO will come if it's meant to be. He was destroying Mendez without too much trouble. No need to change his approach.

On another note: I have no problem with the reversal, because the KO blow was indeed after the bell, and therefore a foul. But Margules brought up a valid point, one which I mentioned shortly after the fight: Minnesota does not have a replay rule. The ref's decision could've easily stood. You don't see bad calls fixed after the fact in many other sports. Hell, even in football, where they have instant replay, the San Francisco 49ers were the victims of bad calls on the field less than two weeks ago. They might've been heading to the Super Bowl if it weren't for that mistake.

This guy is now getting on my nerves. I mean, yes, this decision pretty much sucks for everyone and although I am a Mendez fan I know he had more on his plate than he could handle that night. But Rances is acting like they put a gun to his head and was asked to give the title back. Dude there are rules and unfortunately, for you...you broke them whether it was intentional or not. So, please spare me the nonsense like you didn't do anything wrong. And please spare me with the Mendez was gonna loose crap. We either have rules and follow them or we don't have rules, period. What is he talking about that the commission watched tv and overturned the ruling. If anything there should be more replay in all sports because we all know how many times a player/team have gotten screwed because of wrong calls. So, get the hell out of here with that...he is acting like somehow what they saw on the video was actually different then what really happened. Take it like a man homy...come back and do it the right way next time. Simple as that!

There was also the hail marry between Green Bay and Seahawks with the replacement officials. Even after it was reviewed it stayed. But we all know the bs that went on in that play. But it's whatever tho. It's the right decision I guess.

                  These Cubans make me laugh.

"I DARE any 130-lb fighter in the world to get in the ring with me. I have developed my skills to the point where I am the best boxer in the world at my weight. What happened to Mendez was just the first of many." -Rances Barthelemy

                  1. The best fighter at 130 goes by the name of Takashi "K.O. Dynamite" Uchiyama. His resume at 130 includes wins over: Takashi Miura, Daiki Kaneko, Jorge Solis, Juan Carlos Salgado, Bryan Vasquez, and Jaider Parra.

                  2. The second best fighter at 130 goes by the name of Miguel Angel "Mikey" Garcia. His resume at 130 includes wins over: Roman Martinez and Juan Carlos Burgos.

                  3. The third best fighter at 130 goes by the name of Takashi Miura. His resume at 130 includes wins over: Gamaliel Diaz, Sergio Thompson, and Dante Jardon.

                  4. I can keep going but I think I made my point.

                  5. This motherf**ker Rances Barthelemy's best win is Arash Usmanee, and that's pretty much his only notable win.

What Barthelemy and his team should have said was that it was unfortunate that the K.O. happened after the bell, but that they feel Barthelemy would have stopped Mendez anyway (Which he would have), and that they'll be ready for a rematch. But instead, like always the crying a$$ Cuban is playing the victim. I hope Mendez doesn't give that piece of s**t a rematch now. I don't think the I.B.F. even ordered one.

It's amazing that people s**t on a guy like Mikey Garcia who is a very humble dude, and has never said "I am the best boxer in the world at my weight." Garcia simply lets his fighting do the talking. Btw, Mikey is younger than Barthelemy and has a much better resume.

"What happened to Mendez was just the first of many." First of many what? Knockouts after the bell? Lmao. What a f**kin' clown.

Ordering a rematch was a fair decision.

Now all Barthelemy has to do is just win again and not do any fouling.
