He has enough name recognition that he will still get opportunities and better paydays than most unknown boxers. He will beat some of the Berto's of the boxing world and hang around to be a stepping stone.

The kid has the skills and the punching power but is delusional.

Vic's come far in the sport despite his upbringing. Which is more than most can say.

If he doesn't have it anymore, best to leave the boxing side and start a new gig
as analyst or commentator or something to keep him busy. No sense taking any more life risking punishment.

No doubt he'll still have many fans who support his decision.

Only time will tell what's next for Ortiz but perhaps listening to Oscar De La Hoya would be a good idea.

          oh boy!

He better walk away, if he doesn't want karma to bite him in the a$$, because if he stays, he's going to end up like Muhammad Ali (post Maidana fight)..

Go work with your brother driving rigs, and keep disrespecting the young ladies out here in Ventura, while your pissed drunk at a bar acting like a clown!

            Ortiz

Victor should and will keep fighting. He looked great until he got knocked out. What Victor needs is a good trainer like Roach.

How exactly did he look great? He was getting beat up in the 2nd round. The 1st was a standard feeling out round.

Ortiz really got a bad break in this fight. He was too tense and too eager to prove himself. He was doing ok, then tried to put Collazo away with a monster left hook, but it missed and landed on his chest. He failed to bring that left back to guard his chin, and instead tried to throw a right hook, but Collazo beat him to it with his own right hook. Ortiz may still have a future in boxing, but he needs to take his time getting back into the groove. One doesn't take a 19 month layoff and then take a championship fight. Collazo was simply too much, too soon for him.

ORTIZ was eating right hooks since the very beginning of the fight, his IQ ring is ZERO,he can't make adjustments at all but only throw big shots to hope to hurt/ko his opponent. I'm with you about COLLAZO...too much for him!

Yeah he's not very smart in terms of boxing IQ. He seemed to have only one method of attacking Collazo. Even in the first round I saw that it would be a tough fight for him. I thought maybe he wouldve change up his pace but he kept charging.

Also seems to fold when people fight back. He hurt Peterson early in that fight and I think Peterson battled back to a draw. He had Chino down and Chino didn't give in.

He's also very dirty he tried to head but Collazo a couple of times charging in.

Collozo hasnt been an easy W for anyone including Rick Hatton among others. You dont face a guy like him coming off of a year and a half layoff folowing major jaw surgery and expect an easy night.
