Does Virgil Hunter Give Floyd Mayweather Too Much Respect?

obviously floyd is a fighter you cant help to respect for his skills but everytime i seen hunter interviewed about the potential khan fight, when he talks about mayweather you can see he has a sort of glimmer in his eye. he has a lot of praise and admiration for him, almost to the point that he seems as if he's in awe of floyd, like he gives him too much respect for a trainer.

that aint a good attitude to have if you're about to train a fighter to face floyd. hunter needs to get past his admiration, his fanboyism, and start focusing on beating floyd the phuck down.

I agree, but in fairness I don't think Hunter thought Khan would get a fight with Mayweather this soon. He probably believed like most, that Khan would have to earn it through hard work and improvement.....

I don't think so , fan of Virgil never one to bs and in interviews he gives credit where it's due and saying Mayweather is the best P4P in boxing he knows he has the next P4P in Ward

he doesn't need to pump Khan tires in interviews the ones I've seen he doesn't seem to convinced that Khan has a shot or deserves the fight but if the fight is signed hell do the best of his abilities to help Khan wins but I think he questions his dedication and doesn't have what it takes to win the fight but stranger things have happend

I hate Khan and don't think he deserves the fight but I'm interested to see if / how Virgil will implement a game plan to make it competitive. I thought Angulo would get blown out by Lara but that was a close competitive fight.

Sidenote. I haven't seen It mentioned on the board but people should check out the Virgil / Radio Raheem interview posted a couple days ago good interview.

He's trying to make Khan get serious with himself and boxing.

i saw that interview, it was intense. hunter has questioned khans dedication and he was right because khan wasted time and got married, he trained only 20 weeks out of each year and never trained between fights, only for camps, but hunter said he started training between fights now so he got more dedicated, he realizes he needs to stay in the gym and not smoking sheesha like a dumb mofo

but i dont know why you hate khan, he's a cool dude. he has an ego but 90% of boxers have an ego. most people need that in order to put your life on the line in the ring. i mean look at ortiz, broner, malignaggi, mayweather, toney, froch, kovalev, rigondeaux, stevenson, pascal etc.. list goes on and on. nearly all boxers have egos.. so is your hate towards khan based on something other than ego
