Comments Thread For: Barthelemy-Mendez Ruled No-Contest, Mendez Reinstated As Champ

Nearly a month after losing his title via controversial knockout loss, Argenis Mendez has regained his championship status.

The legal process took longer than expected to run its course, but the Minnesota Combative Sports Commission has overturned the official verdict of his January 3 bout with Rances Barthelemy, declaring the fight a no-contest, it was announced Thursday afternoon. [Click Here To Read More]

Fine with me. Let's have that rematch, so Rances can ice that ass again.

I really hope Barthelemy gets that rematch but think somehow Mendez will find a way out why would he want to get back in there with a guy who destroyed him with ease. Its ok the videos are still around and we all know who is clearly better even if the rematch never comes off.

Meh, Rances needs to target Mikey. Call him out, chase him the way Tarver did RJJ

They should issue a rematch because it was the ref's fault, But do not sleep on Mendez I heard he struggled with the weight this time pretty badly. He is a good fighter and knows what he's up against now, so I think the rematch will be a lot more competitive. Sad to have Barthelemy penialized because of an incompetent ref..

I think that's the correct ruling technically, but it just sucks all around.

Barthelemy > Mendez and will KO him in a rematch - if there is one.
