It was a close fight, who ever says Pavlik won in a definitive manner probably never watched the fight.

    ESPN:
Dan Rafael scored the bout 114-114.
Kieran Mulvaney scored the bout 115-113 for Taylor.
Darius Ortiz scored the bout 115-113 for Pavlik.

The NY Daily News: 116-112 Taylor

LAS VEGAS – Jermain Taylor appeared to control most of the fight and seemed to land the more telling shots, but he didn’t do enough to convince the judges that he had beaten Kelly Pavli…

    Kevin Iole: 115-113 Pavlik

    Harold Lederman: 115-113 Pavlik

    The Associated Press: 115-113 Pavlik

    Close fight.
    I watched the fight like 4 times. 116-112 Pavlik...or 8 rounds to 4.

For the record, Fat Dan is an excellent writer and is good for boxing. He is a horrible judge. He is the same guy that had Mayweather beating Canelo 12-0. Even Money and his loud mouth dad said that he lost 3 rounds in the fight. I had that fight 8-4 Money.

I'd have to go back and rewatch, but I seem to remember thinking this was a clear Pavlik victory. I was a huge JT fan at the time too.

No, but he did a lot better than he was given credit for. I tried to tell people that but at the time there was a weird infatuation with Abraham going on. What bothered me most was every time Abraham got hit to the body he would complain to the ref that he was getting hit low, JT was eventually warned after Abraham kept faking it and he stopped going to the body.
