BoxingScene.com recently caught up with WBO welterweight champion Timothy "Desert Storm" Bradley who recently agreed to a lucrative contract extension with Top Rank and also agreed to a rematch with Manny Pacquiao. The fight takes place on April 12th at the MGM Grand.

Bradley said that in addition to the monetary aspects of the deal, he also stayed with Top Rank because of his relationship with the Las Vegas, Nevada based company.

I still don't understand how fighters sit by idle while their promoters harm their careers over petty personal beefs. What kind of business is that?

Yeah I think Bradley made the right choice. Like he said there would be no guarantee he would get mayweather. He would prob have to fight one of their other Welterweights first, and with GBP stable there's several possibly dangerous fights before finally getting to the big one.

With TR he gets to go straight to the big fights.

It's not just about Mayweather it's that there are so many more options with Golden Boy.

Let's say Bradley beats Pacquaio, what's next? Provodnikov 2? Rios?

I can understand his line of thinking because he's likely to make a lot of money with his new contract but seems to me the better idea in the long run would be to jump ship.

Imagine if he were to beat Pacquaio them got himself into fights with Garcia, Thurman, Matthysse, Porter, Maidana, Broner etc etc etc the list goes on and of course Mayweather.

Exactly, look at what victories over those guys can do for his resume and legacy, and I think he easily beats ALL of those guys listed.

And Im pretty sure he would make more money fighting Danny Garcia than fighting Ruslan Provod, lets be real.

6 mil a lot of money and a very good reason to stay.

I still think he'd have more fights with better fighters consecutively with Golden Boy

It was easy to see why he signed,it was also easy to see he was going to sign..Bradley is a key player on TR..On GBP he's just another fighter, with the top promoters with their heads up Floyd and Alvarez azz..Smart move by Bradley..

I respect Bradley. I just think people understand you can make more money with out fighting Floyd at Golden Boy and build your career in the same process.

Right now Golden Boys: 140, 147, 154 division is loaded: Mayweather, Maidana, Thurman, Porter, Garcia, Matthyse, Canelo, Lara, Broner, the Charlo twins, Guerrero, Ortiz/calozo, and I am sure there are other fighters I left out.

After this Pac fight win or lose what is next? A rematch with Ruslan/Marquez? And it seems like Marquez is on the verge of retiring real soon which he deserves after a great career. But the roster at Top Rank for Bradley is very limited at the moment.

But we shall see how this plays out.

                    Nailed it.

His contract with GBP could have been contingent on signing to fight Mayweather in the fall.
