Before the Rios fiasco, Gamboa was the best fighter at 126. No overrating there. He would've spanked Garcia. Even his dumbass brother, Robert, wouldn't let Mikey near him. But that was a couple of years ago. Yuri presently doesn't appear to be the same fighter. Maybe he can summon the man he once was; maybe he can't. Perhaps those of us that think he still has it in him are overrating Gamboa. We won't know until Yuri faces a top opponent, like Garcia.

too rusty. too little activity for gamboa. He was a reckless beast, back in the days but this is a different gamboa. Too many outside the ring problems.

If mikey's chin hold up ( im betting it would) his skills and sharpness easily trumps gamboa's once elite athletecism and speed.

If the fight would happen at 135 i think yuri should bull rush mikey, if the fight goes mid rounds to late rounds garcia will pick him apart.

This is pretty much what I was thinking.

I'm not overrating Gamboa when I say he was once the best featherweight on the planet, a p4p contender, hard hitting, fast and often exciting. Then the Rios/TR/50 Cent fiasco happened and Gamboa is where he is now. Fighting at 130, always inactive, not top opponents lined up and wasting away the best years of his life.

I hope Gamboa can recapture some of his youth, because he could have been great, the best professional Cuban almost-superstar I've seen in a long while. If he can be what he once was, of course he beats Mikey and that's not overrating the guy. It's just facts.
