I think they are trying to pay off whoever wants to get that story out there, keeping them silent so Mayweather can still fight Khan in May. Everybody knows that Khan is #1 on Mayweathers wish list, the easiest fight with a relative big fanbase in the UK, and if that story turns out to be true and gets public he has to fight someone who might even be a little bit of trouble to Mayweather.

Khan is definetly not the guy, look at his past fights, he has zero fights at 147, he is not even ranked in that division, he is ranked #7 in a lower weight division behind Jesse Vargas and the famous and popular Viktor Postol from the Ukraine

If he fought the top guy from a lower division, like Danny Garcia (who by the way knocked out Khan), that would be credible, but not a total trash can that went life and death with Julio Diaz in his last fight at a LOWER weight.

How can anyone beside Khan's biggest nuthuggers defend that fight? Mayweather could have fought Martinez after his long layoff and injury, he could fight Lara, Pacquiao or even Maidana, who looked like a beast against "little Floyd" in his last fight and got much better with his new trainer while Khan looked worse and worse in his last fights.

Anyhow unless anything drastically happens and that story is true and they cant pay the source off (which they will do), that mismatch against Khan will happen. I mean - we the fans, shouldnt care about ppv numbers and not defend fighters for picking hopeless unranked opponents just because there is no risk involved and will still do decently ppv numbers, specially when you're the #1 p4p guy.

I don't think Showtime, Hayom, TMT and all those hood**** control anything, could any of them stop any major US media outlet releasing this news? Let alone in the UK.
