And Oscar was one of my favorites but when he fought Floyd he wasn't close to being at his best...I think Margarito at that same time would have been a tougher fight just because of his non stop come forward style and iron chin. Not saying he would have won because I don't think he could ever beat Floyd but just basing it off time period I'd go with Antonio.

Nah...... Williams was a sucker for a boxer. We saw it with Quintana 1 and Lara. Williams had lack of defense and could be out smarted. The Quintana rematch KO was impressive but Williams still has a weakness for boxers. Even Cintron was catching him before Kermit leaped frogged out of the ring. Until Arum, HBO, Golden Boy, Showtime dead the beef we won't see any of the fights we would like to see.I think Floyd loses to Paul Williams.. 6-1 with a 78 inch reach and he threw 1000 punches a fight...pity pat 1-2's would not have been enough to take rounds from Paul I think. He did have a bad fight against Quintana but the took him out in the rematch by KO if I remember correctly.
Sergio, if he could make 154 a few years ago would have been "the" fight...he has power, speed, southpaw style and movement. Would have been great...
BTW, I would take Floyd over Manny,Cotto and Margarito in their primes..just wished some of them happened that's all.Comment

Oscar wasn't at his best but he had every advantage over Floyd. Including sparring with Mosley and having Freddie Roach in his corner. I think a Margarito/De La Hoya fight at 154 we would have itnessed Margarito laid out by Oscar because Margarito was tailor made for guys like De La Hoya. Not to mention that Margarito was never successful at 154 (Daniel Santos) Margarito was an aggressive mauler but once he was neutralized he could be beat. Paul Williams boxed around him and Mosley cracked him aura of invincibility. And Oscar was one of my favorites but when he fought Floyd he wasn't close to being at his best...I think Margarito at that same time would have been a tougher fight just because of his non stop come forward style and iron chin. I'm a little upset I went out of my way to point out why Floyd Mayweather is a gigantic ***** in here and it got removed. That's upsetting. I had some cold cut facts/examples too.Comment

I just think Paul's reach and activity level would have been trouble for Floyd..I must have misread your post before, didn't know you were saying Oscar vs Margarito at that time....guess I'd say Oscar but I don't know if at that stage of his career he could have dealt with the constant pressure form Antonio. Nobody could crack his chin...Williams threw like 1500 punches against him to win lol.Oscar wasn't at his best but he had every advantage over Floyd. Pacquiao has a good chance of hurting Floyd if they ever fight. Pacquiao made a fool out of Mosley. the same Mosley i saw except for the 2nd round against Floyd was the same one that came against Pacquiao. People want to pretend he was totally washed up.Comment

"Mosley is one of few fighters who had the opportunity to fight both Mayweather and Pacquiao"
Why does the author bother to write this when its blatantly inaccurate?
DLH
Mosley
Hatton
Cotto
JMM
They got no less than 5 common opponents, that is a lot more than average when compared to any random two fighters in the same weight class.Comment
