  • Comments Thread For: Charlo's Jab Was Key Weapon in Beating Rosado

Breakout performance for Jermell Charlo, who landed 10 jabs per round, double the 154-lb avg. Charlos's accurate stick (39%) produced a power punch connect pct. of 62%. When a fighter lands 62% of his power shots, he's going to win most (if not all) fights. Gabe Rosado, bothered but yet another badly cut left eye, landed just eight power shots per round (21%).

Jabs, 101 to 15? I like and respect the heart of Rosado but those numbers are something to be embarrassed by. Charlo had a reputation with working behind the jab pretty much exclusively, why weren't you able to take that away? I would love to see Rosado get back in the win column but at the same time I want him to win at the big time level, the HBO/Showtime level and not the NBC/ESPN level.

Sorry, Charlo does not impress me & an "opponent" type as Gabe, which was the reason the fight was made...he had NO chance of winning...

I though Charlo looked good, he stood behind his jab, granted Gabe was a punching bag, but he looked solid for an up and comer.

Looking forward to the other Charlo twin's fight this weekend. The brothers seem like they will be forces to be reckoned with

Charlo seems to have a considerable upside but let's face it, he beat a once B+ level guy who was just a shell of what he once was -- Rosado was plain terrible -- looked like he completely forgot how to throw and land an effective punch
