I wish Danny could fight Provodnikov and then move up.
That would be the only one missing right now. And I wish that fight could happen too. Smh but that's what happens in the sport. Fighters can't and don't other fighters for reason like loyalty to a network or promotion comps nor wanna keep **** in house. Sucks for us!

Danny will have all the belts except 1 but would have beaten all the top dogs from Gbp at 140

It's not a pointless fight, Peterson is the only other champion in the division Danny hasn't beaten (obviously forget Prov for now). Peterson would be a great name to have on his resume, Garcia would completely clean out 140 and that means he'd be in for a huge lucrative deal at 147, probably a Floyd fight.

Garcia has this by KO though, Peterson gets caught with too many left hooks.

A fight that Danny won't be the underdog? That will be.........different for him.

It is a pointless fight. Peterson's belt is irrelevant and Danny should already have it anyway. Belt or no belt, Peterson is clearly behind Matthysse in the jr welterweight pecking order. And personally, I consider him a weaker paper titlist than Provodnikov. In order for Peterson to even be relevant against the class of the division (Danny), he needs to clean up that Matthysse situation. Or at the least fight Provo. That fight can be made because Provo isn't tied to Arum.

Either way. From a business standpoint. Peterson needs to sit on his belt and wait for Broner. Win or lose in the Chino rematch, I'm almost positive Peterson is gonna be AB's next target. If Peterson wants to stay busy. He can take a soft touch since AB isn't fight Chino until June or July. But to me, that's the move that makes the most sense to me.

As for Danny. I'm almost positive he's gonne be Floyd's Sept target. I think he was the target for May. But him turning it down sent Showtime and Floyd in scramble mode trying to find an opponent. I hear Danny's gonna fight Herrera. Does anyone know whether that's gonna be at 40 or 47?

you're entitled to your opinion on this fight but what are you referring to when you say that Danny needs to clean up the matthysse mess?

Been reading all the posts about this topic

alot of you guys are not giving LP a chance against "Swift".
That's a damn shame. Yes, he lost to "The Machine". it was the three knockdown rule. He was not "KTFO". Yes Danny beat Lucas by any means necessary, low blows, a swelled eye, ect. Danny beat him.
Just because one fighter beats another fighter, does not mean the other can beat the other.
Remember, Foreman beat Fraizer, but didn't beat Ali.....Hopkins lost twice to Taylor, but beat Pavlick, who lost to Hopkins!
You know where I'm getting at. styles makes fights...
For you guys who don't think LP deserves a chance to get his belts back, who deserves a shot at "Swift"? Eric Morales? Zab Judah? Kendall Holt?, or Khan???
GB will find another scrub for Danny to fight so he can avoid LP.
Just like GB had Alvarez avoid Lara,(got news for you, Angulo my expose Canelo) or Broner jump two weight classes to avoid the killers at 140lbs(but that exploded in their faces w/Maidanna).
Do us all a favor, let's see if "Swift can survive LP, & for you guys, let's really see if LP is the bum that you guys make him out to be!

I agree with this post..I see this fight as being a very close and competitive fight..I'd lean towards Garcia to win it,but I know LP is going to bring it and make a great fight of it..I would not be surprised if LP wins it either..

it wasn't the 3 KD rule, peterson was knocked down twice in round 3, smoger stopped the fight.

I don't believe in triangle theories neither, but i don't see how lamont would beat danny, i feel is like almost the same scenario before the matthysse fight, when lamont KO'd holt and a lot of people here was saying he was going to smother matthysse and stop him late in the fight

Well let's see if GBP will make this fight happen.
I see LP really bringing it to "Swift".
LP has the style, & the energy to give Danny fits.
Danny has never fought anyone like LP. Yes Garcia fought sluggers, and over the hill fighters.
No one in their prime(unless you count "Kid candle Khan" One blow & his out).
LP is slick and will bring it!
