  • Comments Thread For: Frank Warren on UK Heavyweight Scene, Prince Naz, Ali

Following a decade of Klitschko dominance, the recent abdication of elder brother Vitali, who at the moment is in his toughest fight yet in the tragic political turmoil of the Ukraine, has provided a much needed oxygen fix into a world heavyweight scene that had become increasingly stale and stagnant.

The scramble to find a dominant successor is sure to be heated with a healthy crop of evenly matched young bucks jostling to establish hegemony.

Until the last decade, the USA had held a near monopoly over the sport’s blue riband division, with almost every dominant champion hailing from across The Pond.

Naz was entertaining but when he stepped in with the real deal in Barrera he was exposed badly.

Pacquiao would've crushed Naz at 126. Naz didn't have the boxing nous or discipline to contain Manny, he would have been beaten down. His work rate fell far short of the pace needed to beat Pac, who at 126 was an all-guns-blazing, come-forward machine. Would have been interesting if Pac walked onto a real mega-ton shot from Hamed, though, though Pac's chin is solid.

Does anyone really think Fury-Chisora could go down in a football stadium? Neither has an especially large fan base. Delboy in particular can't sell a bean.

        In Britain alone there are Chisora-Fury-possibly Haye-Hughie Fury-Anthony Joshua-Price

Price is still at least a year away from getting back to where he once was, can he ever have that self belief? We'll see.

Outside of Price, Chisora and Fury are the two leading title contenders at heavyweight and I think both men, if prepared fully, physically and mentally, beat Stiverne and Arreola. Chisora, with this new found focus, may prove to be the best of the lot I've just mentioned...unless Haye is genuinely making a come back.

Haye is box office, love him or hate. He brings huge interest around Europe and if he can come back as fit as ever, then I really hope he and Fury can finally get it on and then Haye can be a legitimate contender for the WBC because he beats every and anyone else in the rankings for all bodies, except Wlad.

The best part about the brit scene is the younger guys, Hughie is just 18 and Joshua only 24, in the next 4-5 years, when Wlad is no doubt gone, these two may well be the dominant forces in HW boxing and that's a great thought.

Chisora fought Haye at Upton Park infront of 40k. But the fight at the press conference hyped that up big time.

I doubt it would sell out tbh considering they have already fought once and it wasn't particularly exciting.

No one can deny the talent Nazeem had, he just lacked discipline and work ethics to be an ATG. - Perhaps this Lewison fellow could be Helenius´ opponent for comeback, when ever that is? I´m sure Robert would love to set the record straight.

Other than Hughie Fury and Joshua, David Allen is another good prospect that no one is talking about. He has been in camp with the Furys and i know Peter rates him.

Wank is dreaming. Arreola would smash the Furys and Price and he's a fat bum. Hell even Deontay WildTurd would crush those guys. Hopefully Haye does come back. Naz would have smashed Manny and Floyd good. He was also the first ffighter ever to defeat all FOUR reigning champions in his division.

Naz won 4 rounds, that's hardly getting exposed

                    People even call 117-111, "competitive"
