Mikey does have the skills and talent as evident from all of his previous fights but it's one thing to have those skills and talent and another to put them to the test against the highest level of competition possible. Hopefully Mikey will be one of the few who are brave enough to trully do everything in his power to make all of the greatest and toughest fights possible happen, and really put those skills and talent to the test.Comment

So, he is admitting that he is the one ducking the fight with Gambia because he has no offered formally the fight to him. What a coward. I'm against those fighters who are being protected by the promoters and their selves. For sure Gamboa is a better opponent than Burgos, Salido, Rocky, JuanMa. He has been choosing the loosers and now claiming he is a master. What a joke, like Nonito was, like Canelo is. For me he will never be the best until he stop hiding and face real opponents. At least now he said clearly that he is ducking the fight and Gamboa has to wait because several excuses. Meanwhile he will face second class fighters like Salido who was beaten badly by Gamboa. Top class fighter, what a joke jajajIt’s too late. As far as I’m concerned, he has to wait until a fight is offered to him.Comment

Little Mikey loses to anybody with a good skill set and speed!!! Gamboa ,Rigondeaux, Crawford, Louis Franco would hurt Garcia's feelings!!! Javier Fortuna beats the kid by domination easy work!! Mikey is a Robot!!! He is not specialComment

MG has great skills and his skills seem to to grow with every fight, plus two great boxing minds in his corner. No doubt he will move up and do well against the best in the world in the coming years.
But yes, I do think he should fight Gamboa at 135, I also think Adrain Broner will want to fight Mikey at 135 because of his loss to Maidana to get back at Garcia camp.Comment

It's funny reading all the comments from the blind Gamboa fans. Gamboa looked scared ****less in his last fight against Darley Perez. He looked like he was afraid to get hit. And the fight before that he was supposed to dominate impressively but put up a snoozer. The Gamboa hype train has not played out well. The idea that Mikey is in some way ducking Gamboa is laughable.
With that said, I see no need to rush into higher weights for Mikey. Plenty of good scalps to be had between 130-135. I'd love to see him go on a huge run against any number of guys out there. Chasing Manny is foolish.Comment

Javier Fortuna is one of the most impatient and wild swinging fighters in boxing. Mikey would counter him quite easily.Comment
