It is possible that Hopkins could hold, trick, cheat, befuddle, and use an array of dull and like tactics against Stevenson who may be amazed for a few of the rounds, forget to punch, and let a perfectly winnable fight slip away.

Hopkins' methods won't work against Kovalev. Sergey's mind is too strong. Sergey will punch hard and often and simply break the old pro down. In this sport, age has some disadvantages.

The winner of Hopkins-Shumenov against the winner of Stevenson-Kovalev for all the marbles at light heavyweight.

          I like it.

I welcome the fight. Hopefully Kovalev puts this old bast*rd to sleep.

Ward went down to the hands of the same journeyman, watch the fight.

I've been following Stevenson for years, he's 100% a different fighter.

Back then he had no trainer, no management, etc.

Stevenson has power but also speed, a good defence and all around good boxing IQ.

If you take away's Kovalev's power, he's got nothing.

I can see that happening, too. Hopkins is smart enough to neutralize Stevenson and if no ref called him out throughout his forties for his dirty tactics, they sure won't now.

Just provide him that phukin opportunity and finally fight each other HBO pusies.
Phuk that Fanfara and other bull**** .
Moddufakaz gotta fight each other then face Bernard for unification.
I wanna see old school honored man holding up these belts over his head.
He's one real moda***a who truly deserves that.
Both Stevenson and Kovalev are better than Pascal, and much, much better than Cloud.

Stevenson has skill and speed and power, Kovalev is arguably the most dangerous offensive weapon in the sport right now, and neither would be anything like Hopkins fighting Pavlik or Pascal or anyone else he's fought since Calzaghe, probably. Needless to say, Hopkins isn't the same guy that fought Calzaghe.

Not saying he can't beat them, at this point I'd be a damn fool to count Hopkins out, but these two are not just another Pavlik or Pascal.
