how could hopkins be above kovalev? he beat cloud and murat while losing to bad glass dawson. kovalev destroyed campillo, cleverly, white, and sillakh. sure if you go back 6 or 7 years hopkins has a better overall resume but so would roy jones.

Stevenson v. Kovalev - one of the top 5 fights in boxing that can be made - both oare HBO fighters, no TR/GB issues. Make the fight ! I think Stevenson wants some easy defenses to make $ bc he knows theres a good chance Kovalev KOs him.
Problem is HBO is going to pay him over 500k for this meaningless fight. If you want a tuneup/easy defense, fine, but I partly blame HBO for accepting this crap fight instead of telling Stevenson's people that they will only pay for his fight vs. Kovalev, or a top supr middle like Ward, froch, Groves - or maybe Pascal

Wouldn't be surprised to see Stevenson-Pascal go like Stevenson-Cloud honestly. But with the promotion needed for both fights compared to the Bellew fight, it does seem unlikely.

Let him have a gimme fight after all he did last year he does not have many more years of boxing left he might as well cash out while he can.

Hope Kovalev fights someone decent in the mean time so the fight will be bigger in the future.

Why should he fight Kovalev right now when he could make more money by fighting him later in the year. HBO is televising fights for Zou Shaming and they can't give Stevenson a pass for 1 fight mind you the Kovalev fight was in the HBO deal he signed
