I think this will be Froch's sign-off fight and it is exactly the right one to take tactically and financially.
He's now extremely vulnerable against cuties like Ward and Groves who can negate him with their speed but still hit back with interest and have the strength to take his punches and physicality....but I think Chavez is made to measure and Froch will be so, so up for this fight.
He'll love being the old guy (seemingly on his last legs and coming off a poorish performance) and he likes being the Brit abroad fighting in the other guy's backyard.
I think he tonks Fat Boy and leaves the sport in style.
Both men can dish it out and both men can take it too, thing is Froch is better in every department, faster, stronger, better technique, better jab and punch selection and is always prepared. Chavez has none of those tools and is hardly ever prepared he should be.
Question is, what does Froch have left, we fail to realise that the 2nd Kessler fight was a war too and Froch was tagged with some big big punches all night. He then took some clean, hard shots from Groves, what more does he have? How much more can he give? Is Junior in the right place at the right time.
Basically I don't think Froch is a good enough boxer to avoid Chavez Jr's offense for twelve rounds. Eventually he's going to be pressured and caught. If Chavez Jr. shows up motivated then he could put some real pain on Froch much like Groves did. I suspect that even at super middleweight Chavez hits harder than Groves.
Of course Froch may end up dominating this fight... but I think Chavez is more dangerous for him than most people are acknowledging.

i'd still rather see groves 2 though
Woah!
Faster? >__>... Froch is REALLY slow and Chavez can move some for his size. I also disagree with the technique as well. Froch is very sloppy and awkward technique doesnt belong in the same sentence as Froch. Chavez has SOME skills and has a jab when he choose to use it along with shorter crisper punches..
Technically Chavez is more pleasing to the eye. Froch does have a better jab most likely, and we'll see if he's stronger than a motivated jr.
I think Froch is the better fighter but this fight is weird. Mind tells me froch but my gut says Chavez for some reason...
