I don't usually write on this kind of threads... But Kev here timidly draws some sense on which I'll elaborate a little...

I always underline in my postings that B-Hop obviously managed to establish himself as a genuine and true legend in the sport and that I would like to see him retire "en fanfare"...

But speaking about a "prime B-Hop" it's a tricky issue.

Please check who (and under what circumstances) he beat when he was like 29-33 of age...

        poopkins.

he had much better speed and footwork than for which he's regularly credited. he was a good boxer at MW, even if he wasn't a pure boxer. he had a great chin. not just good, but great. he also had plenty of power to score his own shots on a leaky defense.

hopkins on points. this is an all time great you're talking about, guys. what makes you think gennady golovkin could beat him?

golovkin's in his physical prime. he's not going to get faster, hit harder, or take a better punch. he'll be 32 in april.

he'll learn a few things as a pro, but you do that while you're in your prime and after.

Jeez really? Hopkins by comfortable UD. Hopkins has seen and beat EVERY style including GGG.

i'll also add that this is a bad style for golovkin. hopkins used the ring, knew how to clinch, and had good power with a great chin.

              easy UD for hopkins.
              sorry, easy UD for poopkins.

GGG stays fighting in Monte Carlo if Hopkins was still at MW.

I don't think we know what GGG is yet.. He needs to be in there with a couple better opponents first then we can draw some conclusions. I'd take BHOP by decision right now. His ring smarts and defense would win him the fight, unless he started really slow like he's been known to do then GGG could beat him..

No one here really believes that Golovkin would win. The votes for GGG are just the same Hopkins haters that always vote against him in every poll.
