Canelo came in two pounds under 154 for the Mayweather fight, 2 pounds is a lot for Canelo who has clearly outgrown the division. And now to see him need an extra pound makes you realize how he has prolonged his stay at 154.

Also, it's only been about 6 months.

Im sure his team has been databasing his weight for the past few year, having him step on the scales every 30 min to an hour and they know exaclty where he should be weight wise. They already know he will be around 167-170 lbs by that time.

Had to be some sort of advice as he pointed to the head at the end of it. Maybe related to rehydration, negotiations or the mentality going into a big fight.

He is definitely pulling for Angulo though.
