Im a hopkins fan but Marquez rocking Manny to sleep was a better win especially because of their prior history.

Marquez has the greater win clearly.

He's passed his prime and fighting above his best weight class and he knocked out an ATG fighter.

Trinidad wasn't a proven MW when he fought Bhop. Bhop put on a masterful performance though.

There's something great to be said for totally dominating someone when your a big underdog; the crowd is heavily in favour of your opponent and you fight opposite to what everyone expected as opposed to scoring an off-balance knockdown then getting beat up to the point that your nose is bleeding profusely then stepping on your opponents foot before a perfect right hand. Just saying. Credit where credit is due though.

Not only is Marquez's win over Pacquiao a greater win, the already iconic photo of Marquez celebrating while Pac is down is the Phantom Punch of this century.

Quite easily Marquez's forever memorable KO of Pacquiao. As long as knockout highlights exist, we'll be watching it.

I agree with you in terms of Marquez's win being better but to say Tito wasn't a proven middleweight?? He had just destroyed, annihilated, obliterated a long reigning middleweight champion in Joppy, what else was there left to prove?

Marquez's win is better though, simply because Marquez was moving up in weight and going up against one of the greatest fighters of all time whos only "loss" in years was the worst robbery of the century.

then again, there is the controversy surrounding JMM...

The Hopkins win was more impressive because nobody picked him to beat tito. Tito was undefeated and had the home field advantage fighting at MSG. Hopkins is the only person too ever knock him out

Marquez beat pacquiao, but that was considered a 50/50 fight. based on the previous 3 fights. Marquez got the knockout but pacquiao has been stopped before.
