I would have bought the fight but it probably do in the 75-125 k range on PPV neither are well known to casuals but it was the most anticipated fights of the year among people who pay attention to the sport and made it that PPV a must watch event.
My family knows I'm on here every day. They always ask me who's fighting next. Even when I was broke, I still bought ppv, because all I care about is the action. You're talking about you won't buy because "its not ppv worthy". **** out ta here with your wannabe promoter ass. Just say you can't afford it. Its no biggie. We were all kids once and had to depend on our mamas tit to survive. You're just taking it to your 30s. No biggie. You can't afford 50 bucks every few months but you can buy 65 dollar video games. OK.
Oh dear, I feel or them.
Red: So wait, am I broke or not? You came to the conclusion that I was broke, with your 1 percenter self, but then acknowledged I buy $65 dollar video games. So which one is it? I buy as many PPV's a year as I do games.
And you are taking arguing on the internet into your 50s, no biggie.
Marquez-Diaz I was PPV worthy even on paper, it didn't get PPV. You know nothing about that, the networks know more than us when it comes to that although sometimes they put sh-t fights on PPV, hence not putting certain fights that may otherwise be really good on PPV. Fans complain regardless, if HBO/Sho put too many fights on PPV, fans complain. If they don't put a fight on PPV, on hindsight, fans say it shoulda been PPV and that they woulda paid for it, after the fact. But no one was talking about Garcia-Matthysse for PPV and how they would buy it. This is just hindsight. You know you didn't want to pay no 50-60 bucks for Garcia-Matthysse pre-fight. The consensus was relief among boxing fans that they were gonna be able to see it on a PPV they were already gonna purchase, and just strengthened their reason to buy the PPV. Nobody was talking about "Ohhhhh my god Garcia-Matthysse, i'd buy that!" No one, that's just "now" talk.
if they were the main event and it had a shlty under card? Both are really good fighters IMO...but are they PPV main attraction worthy based on their resumes?
Yup. I would have bought it fa sho. I remember telling a friend (more like acquaintance actually) who's a casual at best -- I told him I would have bought the Garcia/Matthysse fight as they were walking out (if it were PPV), and he looked at me like I was insane. Then he said "you're crazy these dudes must suck because anybody who fights on an undercard sucks". But then again this is the same type of tard who who only knows who Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather Jr, and Manny Pacquiao is.
I understand that a lot of people don't feel the same way about boxing as we do, and that's fine, but please for the love of God don't disrespect these warriors who actually get in the ring while -insert casual here- sits on his couch with his f**king nachos talking about how a dude must suck because he hasn't heard of him. Or because he's not on PPV.
I was looking forward to Danny vs Lucas more than the main event, and that's not to say I wasn't looking forward to the main event.I kinda knew the main event would be a dud,and the chief support had all the makings of an exceptional fight.
It begrudged me Matthysse had an injured eye as I knew the fan boys would try to underplay Danny's win.I would pay ppv for a rematch tomorrow,so Danny can silence the few remaining critics.
