He is just staying in shape for a unification bout against the winner of Lamont*Peterson vs Dierry Jean winner later in the year because that is all that is left for him to do at 140lb, and then he will probably move up to 147 and get a shot at Floyd next year.

He's settled that Matthysse issue already. No need for a rematch. This guy is like 26 he has his whole career ahead of him. He deserves tune up fights here and there to sharpen his skill set, for when he really starts swimming with the sharks. Its a good enough fight for now, and this may set up a 3 fight year for him, because 2 is not enough for him at this stage.

Exactly what I thought, these guys are ***in ******ed.

Danny's fought Morales, Khan, Morales again, Judah and matthysse in his last few fights.

Morales was shot but Khan was the number 1 guy and Matthysse was supposedly the most feared man in the division. Judah was still relevant.

              What a cherry pick.
Garcia back to his cherry picking ways. I hope Herrera beats his ass like Holt and that british guy.

Lundy fight is out there and he's way better. It can be made.... I wonder why he's duckin

Ill go a step further - why do we not expect champions to fighta tough opponent every time - maybe not the #1 contender every time - but a tough opponent - otherwise why would hbo or showtime pay millions to watch a cahmpion fight someone who is not a legitimate threat to win. Rematch wit Matthyse, Peterson v. Jean winner, Lundy all would be good.

He can take the fight if he wants - that's fine. But Showtime should not pay him 1 mil for it. My subscrition $$$ can be better spent

Would have rather seen Karim Mayfield, Hank Lundy or even Victor Postol but Herrera is a tough guy who comes to fight. Should be an easy win for Garcia though.

why does he "deserve " a tuneup. He's the F***n champ! he should take a challenge each time out. Judah was "relevant" yeah, his name. He fought the best posiible fight he couls fight and still lost. BUT, even that fight was better than this.
These guys figh two time per yr. Maybe if they fought like GGG 3-4 x per yr, then ok, take an easy fight. but cmon, please explain to me why the world champ desevres a "tuneup" which he will get a ton of money for, when this will be one of his 2 fights this year.
Although, I blame Showtime just as much if they buy this crap

That's not exactly a legendary run. Morales was shot to **** years ago. Judah was a cherry pick. Khan and Matthysse were the only real tough fights in that sequence.
