    It would be absolutely laughable.

He wouldn't even get a punch off.
You sound absolutely ****** , gamboas life would be on the line if he fought Rios , size difference is too significant , rios walks thru whatever Gamboa throws at him .. Gamboa has ****ted his career away ever since he left top rank .. Lucky he avoided Mikey because Gamboa would've gotten wrecked

The featherweights that were smaller & skinnier than he were dropping hamboa left & right how's his chin gonna hold up against big welterweight shots. And he disappeared like a ghost when it came to look Rios in the eyes.

Gamboa-Rios ain't happening. Yuri can't effectively climb to 140; he doesn't look very good at 135. And Brandon isn't coming down to 135; so, there's no fight to be made here. I really don't understand this "social media war of words."

As for Gamboa-Garcia, it can and should happen soon. Since it won't happen at 126, I'd like to see it at 130. I don't think the outcome is nearly as clear as some believe. I think this would be a great fight, and one the fans should be asking for.

I agree, that would be a good fight. Gamboa's rust would not boad well for him, especially as a fighter that relies on his reflexes heavily.

                    Agreed on Gamboa's reflexes.

Yuri hasn't looked himself in the last two years. Frankly, the Farenas fight didn't concern me. Gamboa had been inactive for fifteen months and was back at 130 for the first time in years. What concerned me was Yuri's last outing. He appeared listless and ineffective. I just didn't get it. Gamboa claims he's been working on different fighting styles, trying to master different looks. If that's so, I can understand how uncharacteristic he appeared.

If Yuri and Mikey meet anytime soon, we might very well see a return to the old Gamboa. Some great athletes only get up for the biggest challenges. I've seen Yuri fight down to his opposition a few times. With Garcia, Gamboa will have his best opponent to date before him. Add to that the fact that a win would bring "El Ciclon's" career roaring back, and you've got yourself sheer motivation. This could be a sensational fight!

I wish I knew. I would be very happy if Gamboa at least fought more often. It would keep him sharp. "Fiddy" seems to be a part-time promoter. He's letting his best fighter's prime slip through his fingers.
