That's because the local crowd actually wants to see him face Hopkins and Froch.

Recap... Quebec had two champions (Bute and Pascal) and both lost their belts to these guys. Now the local fans want Superman to get them back.

Also, dollar wise it's better to build up the Kovalev fight a few extra months, since locally most people don't know Kovy.

In many interviews Stevenson has stated the Kovalev fight is happening in 2014. He has zero worries about this challenge.

On the other hand, Froch, Ward and Hopkins have been ignoring Superman's callouts for the last two years!

I love to see this fight happen. The winner would be the best 175 pounder in the world. I favor Superman because he fought better competitions. Even a past his prime Dawson and Cloud were better than Campillo, and Cleverly.

We don't have to agree, I just don't see it.

I'm sure he has a good punch just like Lemieux has a good punch

The problem with good boxers... it's hard to hit them!
No, they were Ring top 10 for a while. Cleverly was top 10 at least since Murat way back, and Campillo was top 10 since 2009. Campillo was also a very good boxer, shown when ouclassing Shumenov and Cloud. You just don't know what you're talking about.

Turns out even White was rated #9 on boxrec, one spot head of Kovalev:

Cloud wasn't better than Campillo. You never saw that fight?

Lemieux was like top 2 WBC for a period of time too!

Froch has Groves to worry about and Stevenson only became someone after KO'ing Dawson (6 months ago), and Ward is the man at 168. If anything, Stevenson should be going DOWN to face him. This time last year, Stevenson was a nobody, so don't give me this 'Stevenson has been calling guys out for the past 2 years'. And yes, I'm aware that Kovalev was a nobody at this time last year too, so don't start on that.

And he completely ignored Kellerman when asked about Kovalev. He didn't say 'I want to fight either Hopkins or Froch, then fight Kovalev', he just started talking about Hopkins or Froch (who isn't even in his division ROFL).

Dude I'm giving you Ring/consensus rankings, you're giving me sanctioning body crap. Cleverly and Campillo were consensus top 10 for a long time. White wasn't despite the boxrec ranking, but he was top 20. You said no top 20 opponents. Turns out he destroyed 3 in one year. GTFO already, it's clear you don't know ****.

Actually I live a few minutes from Adonis... And I assure you, local fans would love to see him get those belts back from Froch and Hopkins.

Most people who don't necessarily follow day to day boxing have no clue who Kovalev is.

Unlike most US cities... Fans in Montreal often fill up the 20 000 seats. People are big on events.

The other thing... we've been getting local interviews of Stevenson for the past 3 years. You didn't know who he was six months ago but locally we did. And believe me so did Hopkins, Froch and Ward.

Also what Stevenson said that night you keep mentioning is that if HBO puts the right amount of $$ he was ready any time.

Froch or Hopkins = 20,000 tickets sold locally
                  Kovalev = 6000 tickets locally

HBO has to put the difference, or market the fight to make local people want to go!

You realize this is prize boxing! It's all about making the maximum $$ before you retire.

Dude you obviously know even less.

Give me a break with those six month top ten ranking

                    Who did they ever fight?
How long did they stay champions?
Were they still in the game when Kovy fought them?

Did you even see a White fight?

In this day and age having a belt means nothing! Half of them are held by B and C level fighters

We can argue all you want... in less then 12 months one of us will be proven wrong!

What Stevenson did to Dawson had nothing to do with prime as the fight never went long enough to determine it, but he was lineal champ and before ward shutout B-Hop who is going strong. As for Cloud he never was the best to begin with but its still a good and serious opponent to have on your resume.
