OP's point is that a lot of people who wouldn't usually put money into boxing would donate to this since it's a good cause. Personally, I'd buy this fight, and I usually watch streams. I could see a lot of celebrities, CEOs and people in the 1% making contributions. OP is saying only Pac and May's purses would be donated, so everyone else involved is still paid. He's saying that May and Pac will continue boxing anyway, so their tax-deductible donations from this event would cover their taxes on future fights.

The best post on here is the one that made the real reason this can't happen. HBO/SHO/TR/GBP/Hayon/Trainers.....even if Floyd and Manny were like yeah free....they wouldn't but let's be real neither Floyd or Manny will do this for charity it's something thats just said to be said.

Pac's in deep debt, he can't afford a free fight. Floyd won't give away almost 100$ mil dollars for free.... no one would who has that kind of money. That's something a lot of people don't understand about "rich" people...you can claim you have so much why not give it away but...the reason most rich people stay rich is because they're greedy or stingy with their money, my familys like that. Morally is it right or wrong? It depends on what you consider morals...but the fact of the matter is, it's never been a plausible idea...stop pretending it is.

It only covers for that tax year, when it comes to deductibles btw. so if it's in sept and they don't fight again until next tax season....

Any excess charitable contributions may be carried over to next year's tax return (and if not used up next year, may be carried forward for a total of five years).

Is it really for charity if your looking for a tax write-off. Saying they are doing it more charity makes the fight a gimmick when all they have to is announce they are fighting and they will break records no press tour 24/7 or All-Access is needed just a date & venue.

Are you going to stop pretending 40 mil with no ppv is a reasonable offer?
