Comments Thread For: Roach: Marquez Was The Best Option For Pacquiao

Trainer Freddie Roach is disappointed that Juan Manuel Marquez has no interest in a fifth fight with Manny Pacquiao, who is scheduled to return on April 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao and his promoter, Top Rank's Bob Arum, tried to convince Marquez to accept a fifth meeting. The Mexican superstar continuously said he was not interested.

After three unsatisfying endings, Marquez wants to close their rivalry with the sixth round knockout that he scored in the fourth fight in 2012.

Yea, Roach saw Pacquiao winning along with anyone else in the world who saw the fight aside from two of the pitiful judges and a few media guys. It was a robbery and Pac should be fighting scary a55 Marquez.

so freddy roach admits ruslan is a better fight because bradley is tougher, pretty much saying that bradley would whoop pac-roid again. i said this many times before, and ill say it again, if pac wants to be great again he needs to start doing roids again and start having catchweight fights against drained old shot fighters.

I'm sure Marquez was the first choice because he brings in the mosts money, but they both said the last fight would be their last time fighting each other. Pac lost and I understand why he would not want their rivalry to end like that, but if he beat Marquez in that same fashion would he be willing to give Marquez another fight?
Did I just read that right? Did Roach just say that pac has troubles with boxers? The other day he implied that pac may have been on something while ariza was the s&c coach, now he implies that pac has issues with boxers.

Basically it sounds like Roach wants Ruslan over Bradley because he knows Pacquiao beats Ruslan but isn't sure if he beats Bradley.

                Weak stuff.

Roach: "Personally [Between our two choices] I think Ruslan is a better fight. Bradley boxes too well." That quote says A LOT!!!

Pac and GG fans just want their opponents to man up and give the boxing public the fights they want to see.

You want to pretend they don't exist so your favorite fighter doesn't get asked to fight them.
