If this fight ******, Bute deserves all of the blame. He has some skills somewhere, but he plainly does not have a fighter's heart or instincts. He gets punched in the mouth and the last thing that occurs to him is to throw a punch back. He should retire now, because he will never beat an elite fighter and he's going to get himself hurt real bad if he tries. Pascal didn't look great, but he fought well enough and tried to make the fight fun to watch. Pascal can compete with Stevenson and Kovalev; Bute gets stopped early and bad by both of those guys.

The criticism of HBO is harsh. Most people were really looking forward to this fight. Both had a lot to lose, and the fight was fought like that. I personally enjoyed the nervousness of the fight. I'd definitely watch Bute again at 168lb - like Khan his vulnerability is exciting. Absent any serious opponents for Ward, I'd watch that fight.

agree this was a lousy fight -- Bute looked clueless, uninterested, unfocused, unengaged and depressed until the 12th round -- Pascal has good defensive skills but is too inactive and tentative on offense -- could have and should have been able to take out Bute at any time after the 6th round if he just went after him -- let Pascal fight Stevenson who will force him to be more active rather than posing with his arm ****ed for long stretches -- don't think Pascal will be able to stand up to Stevenson for 12 rounds....

I agree with the writer, better not be no rematch. Pascal and/or Bute gets ko'd by any of the Lh's. HBO better not buy Bute fighting anybody again on HBO. He needs to prove himself by fighting on ESPN or somewhere else. He can sell tickets in Canada but HBO needs to stop buying fights where we know who is going to win before the bell rings.

Who know who doesn't deserve a rematch. Broner and Mares. Both got their ass kicked convincingly yet they wanna exercise their rematch clause. That clause is such bull****. Gb puts that clause in on all their fighters and if you want the fight that clause has to be in there or they will skip you.
