By the end of this year, Castillo will be fighting at 140-pounds, of that I have no doubt. A lot of people are lining up to fight Miguel Cotto, and those same people are hoping to high heaven that Castillo does not get there first. Corrales-Chavez would be a very good fight indeed. Corrales also should make his way up to 140 as it always baffled me why he came back only five pounds above the weight he was at before he got sent to prison.

The Light Welter division is gonna be smoking hot later in the year.
I believe that Castillo-MayweatherIII might take place if you consider that Castillo wants to keep loyal to the WBC, this is of course if PBF does not step up to 147.
When you add Cotto, Corrales and Hatton in the mix, the possibilities for great fights are overabundant.

It should be a good time for the division again, Holmes. I think that in the last few months it has fallen below par, compared to its excellent standards we've seen in the past. The introduction of the lighter guys we've talked about here should ****e it upa great deal. I think Mayweather is already staying at welterweight. And to be honest, of all potential fights for him at 140, I think he would want Castillo the least. Castillo scared the **** out of him in their first fight, and without disrespecting Floyd, who I think is a great fighter ability wise, I think he only took the second Castillo fight due to public pressure because of the first fight. And for me, Floyd's evasive performance in the second fight said it all about how willing he was to engage. This is why I have to laugh when I hear Floyd talking about how he's been in wars and stood to-to-toe with people, like who? Henry Bruseles? Gatti? I like Floyd stylistically but he's getting away with far too much at this stage of the game; he's walking away from excellent fights against the likes of Hatton and one of these days, he is going to go too far and come unstuck, and when that happens, he will rue the decisions he has made to stay away from the other fights he might have taken that might have secured his legacy long ago.

A lot of people believe that a fighter is only as good as his last fight, look at both fights and the answer should be pretty obvious,

My thinking on it is that as soon as the fast, accurate shots of Mayweather start landing on Judah, it's in the bag for Mayweather. I thought it would be easy work for Floyd before the Baldomir debacle, and my opinion has not changed, even as bad as Judah looked against Baldomir, I neevr figured him as a match for Mayweather. If you look at it, Judah was really protected since winning the welterweight ttile, and in truth, he had not fought a legitimate world class puncher since Tszyu knocked him out. This is an opportunistic move from Judah and one he is lucky to receive. I think it is due mainly to Mayweather's vanity, much like when Shane Mosley was out in the wilderness until De La Hoya decided that he needed to avenge that first loss. I don't think we would have seen much of Mosley if he had not had that break in the form of the second De La Hoya fight. Judah is a lucky guy, but this is the perfect time to start boycotting fights, man. HBO is touting a lot of bull**** fights for this year, and this is just about the worst of the worst in terms of credibility. What happens if Judah knocks off the guy most consider the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world? And it's only to be expected if Mayweather wins; what does it prove?

Staying at Welter might be the smartest move Mayweather can make. Judah should not be much resistance. Margarito is where PBF might have the biggest obsticles of the bunch, We'll see what improvements Margarito has made on the 18th. but in any case, Floyd might just avoid him altogether.

BTW, welcome to Boxingscene Castillofan, enjoy the ride.

Well you've missed a lot kid.

Baldomir didn't go through the IBF weigh IN recquirement and refuse to pay the sanctioning fee so the IBF BELT is not on the line in that fight.

Hey, thanks a lot Holmes. I like the look of the place and there seems to be a lot of fans here that know their stuff.

I think Margarito is the fight for anyone at welterweight, but, strangely enough, nobody mentions him. The fragmentation of the welterweight titles might have allowed Margarito to gain the undisputed championship, but that would mean only a ridiculous schedule of imposed mandatory defenses costing him money he has not even earned from the sport in fights unlikely to earn anything like whaat Mayweather and Judah will earn in April. I have no doubt that if Mayweather wins in April, he will move to light middleweight an be in good shape to fight a titlist there. It's all looking very much like Roy Jone syndrome to me as far as Mayweather is concerned. By that I mean the smoke and mirrors. There was a day when everyone was convinced that Roy was untouchable, then all of a sudden, it came to pass that he was done and the many fights he might have taken to elevate his standing years ago were long gone. There's no conceivable reason to me why Mayweather should not fight Ricky Hatton at light welterweight. Beating up Gatti, a guy Mayweather himself blasted as a paper champion, is that supposed to be the pinnacle of Floyd's achievement in what is understood as the most talent saturated weight division in boxing? I am glad that someone like Brian Kenny finally stuck it to Floyd and called him on the bull**** he is trying to pull out here. Of course, Mayweather had no answer for the criticism and resorted to the old "you don't know boxing" card. The fights are there for Floyd, but he has his mind elsewhere.
