Are you serious? You think Mayweather's te only fighter ever to be accused of ducking? You must be an ignoramus. Besides you can still enjoy boxing and not acknowledge Mayweather.

Undefeated and Healthy???? This is Boxing, not Bowling. Anyone can hand pick their opponents to death in order to manufacture an undefeated record. Floyd has been all about the business, and making as much money as possible for as long as he can, with as little risk possible. And he's done THAT better than anyone. But he's never fought the best of the best IN their prime, nor fought the best multiple times, win, lose, or draw. So he can lay claim to the largest PPV numbers, the biggest bank account, collected all the belts, fought for 17 years.... he can have all that. BUT he's NO WHERE close to being as great a fight as Ray Robinson, Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran, Alexis Arguello, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr, Aaron Pryor, Salvador Sanchez..... those guys had more machismo in their pinky, than Floyd has in his entire being. Floyd just decided to manage his career this way, and more power to him. Those legends just named, they wanted to KNOW who the best was, so they FOUGHT the best, in their primes. That's so much more credible than Floyd skirting all that for big paydays.

Don't be ******... Andre Ward is not a real stretch. Hell Leonard went up after a 5 year retirement and no tune up fight to fight Hagler. Hearns had 3 epic rounds of war with Hagler. Both went all the way up and fought at 175 looking for challenges. Floyd thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread... ball up and go fight Gennady at 160!!! They go fight Ward.... Floyd is a huge puzzy caring nothing more than lots of money and little risk. He's playing a different game than the legends before him. Hell, Hagler could have done the same thing, and retired undefeated. Leonard could have done the same thing.... he didn't need to fight Tommy Hearns twice, he didn't need to fight Roberto Duran twice. Duran didn't need to give Leonard a rematch after he won the first fight. Duran didn't need to fight Hagler, he didn't need to fight Tommy Hearns which got him knocked out.... He didn't need to take all those risks. All these guys could have hung around and waited until the others turned 40, or had too many wars, then pick them so to put their big names on his resume. But that's not how those guys rolled. That's how Floyd rolls. Aaron Pryor didn't need to give Arguello a rematch after their first fight, but he did. So when you make these ****** comments how Floyd changed the game... he really did... he made it about the money with little risk as possible. Be strategic WHO you fight and WHEN you fight them. Nothing credible about that.... Ali & Frazier, Ali & Norton, Ali & Foreman, Frazier & Foreman, Holyfield & Bowe 3x, Holyfield & Tyson twice.... those guys didn't need to take all that risk, but they were legends of Boxing, and that's what Legends do.

As soon as he finally moves up to his second weight class, just 8lbs up, he will get exposed if he fights the top guys there and at 175. Floyd fights top 3 fighters 17lbs and 24lbs up from his debut weight class and he's a cherrypicker? Let's see Golovkin fight at Cruiserweight, like Hernandez, Chambers, Jones, Huck, and see if he beats any of them. Forget CW, does he even beat Hopkins, Stevenson, Kovalev, Pascal, Bute, Dawson, at 175? Does he even beat Ward, Froch, Groves, Kessler, Bika?
The difference is GGG is taking on everyone NOW. He's fighting four times a year. Stevenson was supposed to be this killer that would expose GGG. Now that didn't go so well, everyone talks down Stevenson saying "Oh he was over rated", sure after he got train wrecked by Gennady. Gennady just said he wants to clean out 160 right where he is... that's very credible for a young guy getting better with every fight. He's got Sergio to blow out, Chavez Jr, Cotto, Canelo, Quillen, and then he can go after Ward, and he's the kind of guy that won't back down from anyone. He's very credible.

          • It's funny that people still think Marciano's record is a record.

            • First, let me give credit where credit is due. Floyd Mayweather has done what many boxers fail to do: he figured out his identity and style as a fighter early on in his boxing life, he perfected that style, and he's turned it into one of the most financially impressive careers of all time.

Further more, Floyd deserves a lot of credit for never losing focus on the ring. He's always trained and worked hard, ate right, and kept himself in top shape, and that, along with careful selection of opposition, may be the top reason he's never been defeated.

I only hope Floyd truly understands where he'll stand in the sport historically. I suspect he thinks he'll be remembered as the greatest and best fighter of all time. He probably thinks that the fans hate him purely because he's the best. But that isn't why the fans hate him. For one thing, Floyd isn't even close to being the greatest fighter of all time. It's really impossible to achieve greatness without facing greatness as an opposition of some kind. For some fighters, that simply means overcoming great odds to become the best, like Rocky Marciano did. For other fighters, like Muhammad Ali, greatness comes from having a great rival like Joe Frazier.

Sorry to break it to Floyd, but that will not be the case for him. He missed his chance to create that legacy for himself, and may have denied Manny Pacquiao the opportunity at the same time. Manny seems to have always understood that, and has never stopped hoping that the two will carve their names in the stones of the all time greats.

The reason fans hate Floyd Mayweather is because he never lives up to his own billing. He will probably finish his career undefeated. And, contrary to popular belief, many of the fighters he's beaten are noteworthy, but history will never stop questioning his resolve for greatness.

As I said before, to be great, one must greatness as an opsticle. It's always been that way, and always will be.

Floyds had an extremely impressive career, but he simply hasn't left the mark of greatness. In fact, he never even tried.

              • The thing is, Pacquiao will be remembered as one of the greats. He will be a boxing symbol 20-50 years down the road.
