Comments Thread For: Felix Verdejo Aims To Get Revenge on Lomachenko

Puerto Rican Olympian Felix Verdejo is craving to get revenge on Vasyl Lomachenko in the pro ranks. Lomachenko, 25, beat Verdejo, who is five years younger, with a score of 14-9 in the 2012 Olympics in London. Lomachenko went on to win his second gold medal. Both fighters have since turned pro and signed with Top Rank, although Lomachenko is far more advanced in his career - receiving a world title shot in only his second pro fight, as he takes on WBO featherweight champion Orlando Salido on March 1.

Verdejo started his career at 130 and Lomachenko is very tall and rangy at 126. No doubt they will both be in the same weight class with in a year or two. I wouldn't expect Lomachenko to stay at 126 for too long.

They just in the same weight class in the last Olympics. It's not like one guy is that much bigger than the other.

Probably didn't even read the article, only made an assumption based on the title. He also probably didn't even know they fought at the Olympics in a close, competitive fight.

This will be a huge fight in about 2-3 years,,,,

but first things first, verdijo needs to keep active and honing his craft, and lomo needs to not get obliterated with his huge step up in competition so soon in his career... If both succeed this will be a huge fight in 2016

Salido will be the one to avenge Felix.

El Siri ends Lomachenko's career at 1-1.

This fight is a long way off...or it should be. Felix is a nice prospect, but he's got some grooming to go. Vasyl is being brought up too quickly, in my opinion, but he's significantly more advanced than Verdejo.
