    this is not about popularity.

this is assessing how fighters perform in the ring.

i dont care how much a fighter is hated or liked. i base my predictions on their style and previous performance.

This would be a very dangerous fight for both fighters, but IMO moreso for Thurman. Y'all are sleeping on Porter. One thing you have to take in when watching the career of Porter is his Manager and Father, Kenny Porter. Him and Shawn as well are very intelligent individuals. It's refreshing to listen to them speak on future opponenets and give their intake on fights etc. They are intellingent, very well spoken and very poised, those sort of intangibles goes a long way in a sport like boxing. Shawn is not only a very skilled and talented fighter (amateur record of 276-14 speaks for that) but he is a thinking mans fighter. He showed it in his approach to Alexander, who's style to me was a puzzle I long solved and got frustrated watching boxers struggle with. Porter knew exactly how to fight Alexander and completely took him out of his comfort zone while implementing his own plan. It's not easy to do, as if it was, Alexander with all his limitations "should" have lost much more fights than he has. But not all fighters are thinkers. Not saying Thurman is not a thinking mans fighter, he does adapt well in fights and is well spoken as well, seems intelligent himself. Just something about Porter and his team, they have ths quiet cerebral type of vibe to them and a real calm quiet confidence to themselves and Porter as a fighter. Will be a great match but I actually think Porter might have the perfect game plan for a Thurman and may shock a lot of folks by winning and defending the belt!

Showtime father said the fight won't happen unless OneTime get a belt...and I quote "He's not on our radar"

One time baby! That's all it ****ing takes! Thurman will put a beating on this kid. Snatch that title and then it's on to a Mayweather fight.

They have to be soooooo careful who they select for junior. He's such a weasel and only about the money. These other guys they are quick to throw them to the wolves; they don't give a crap.

2 great prospects, but I still feel this fight is happening way too soon for both of them. Wish Thurman could have finally fought Malignaggi like he was always pushing for, oh well. Big ups to Goldenboy for putting together such a great fight! Thurman is going to get tested in this fight, no doubt, Porter is slick, fast and will keep those punches coming. Before you know it, that sacred "0" will no longer mean anything and all fighters will stop being fed safe fights to bulk up their record. UFC almost has the right idea, 1 belt in each division, and you HAVE to fight who is the best at the time if you are champion, no negotiations, prove you are the best. It's not too often a fighter is undefeated for too long in UFC, they throw you to the best at all times. Wish boxing could start from scratch. There has to be a billionaire boxing fan somewhere who is ready to invest in forming a new boxing order and change the game.

I don't care what anyone says, I'm a big Richard Schaefer fan. Putting on the big fights seems to be this guy's main priority. You can tell he always aims to top the last event. I'd love to see Porter vs. Thurman, though I think Keith would decisively pull it out.

Would love to watch this fight. Porter's swarming style against Thurman's power. Hard to pick a winner at this point for me.

Lol @ 20-0 2kos. People who don't know One Time would think Porter may go up against a feather fisted fighter. I love this fight, its a huge test for both guys!
Schaefer says Porter and Brook will happen like the Thurman fight is a given or something... C'mon now...
