I am aware of that, but if the earthquake had not occurred, they would have come up with another excuse to cancel the fight. Or are you gullible enough to believe that Maidana is only capable of fighting twice a year and would allow the birth of his child to prevent him from training? Plenty of fighters have children while trainingand I have never heard of one pulling out of fight because of it.Comment

No, dumbass. Obviously you didn't notice the word conveniently in my message. The earthquake gave him a convenient excuse to pull out. If I had not been for the earthquake, he would have suffered an injury in training or it would have been something else. Did you notice that the Mosley/Berto fight was never rescheduled?Let me get this right. So r u saying when Berto signed to fight Mosley he already knew that the Earthquake in Haiti was gonna happen and kill his relatives? Or are you saying that Berto caused the earthquake because he wanted out of the fight so he can step aside for Floyd? I just wanna make sure I understand u clearly.Comment

So six weeks from mid December is February 1st. Then 10 weeks of training gets you to April 14th. The bout was supposed to be April 19th. To me, that adds up perfectly.
Granted, the birth of his daughter is a legitimate reason, but the "usual rest then training" cited seems to fit perfectly with the schedule.Comment

Ok, ok...
so this leaves hope that Maidana could get his azz up for May 3, Floyd or Broner II?
i know its basically just a difference of a couple of weeks, but it clears time in the immediate future for maidana to think it out. What do you think?
i was upset that the rematch fight would have it's own date as it was. they are gonna need a fight like this for reinforcement for Floyd-khan.
I don't like the timing of that one very much, but I think I could get with these two fights and end up being excited for that date.Comment

Are you really that damn ignorant to make such comments? Of course you are, just like most of these posters on this site. How can you possibly speak on a man canceling a fight to be with his family after he lost some of his family to the hurricane and he also went to his country to lend a hand. He turned down millions to help his family and his country. That is very commendable. Then you speak on a man for deciding to be there for his woman as she goes through 9 months of pregnancy and he passes on millions to see his first child born. Because other fighters have passed on their childs birth you're saying this man should do the same? He put family first. I take my hat off to both of these men for having morals and sticking to them. It didn't matter that millions were being thrown at them, they chose family first.I am aware of that, but if the earthquake had not occurred, they would have come up with another excuse to cancel the fight. Or are you gullible enough to believe that Maidana is only capable of fighting twice a year and would allow the birth of his child to prevent him from training?
