Comments Thread For: Lamont Peterson Welcomes Danny Garcia Clash at 140

Lamont Peterson is set to make his 2014 debut on January 25th when he takes on undefeated Dierry Jean in his hometown of Washington, DC as he looks to bounce back from his loss to Lucas Matthysse this past May. Peterson still holds his IBF Junior Welterweight belt and will be defending it for the second time.

Lamont is not taking his opponent lightly and has been working hard to get himself prepared and back on track. There have been talks that the winner of this fight has a chance to maybe face Junior Welterweight kingpin Danny Garcia who holds the WBC and WBA titles.

Hmmmm. It all depends if Peterson is still using hip testerone implants, like he did against Khan, because that is hardcore roidoing.

Has Peterson been doing this his whole career? He definitely looked soft against Lucas. But against Bradley and Khan, he looked like statue.

The Peterson that fought Bradley and Khan, should be able to beat Garcia. Zab showed us Garcia's limitations. Garcia showed us Mathhysses, and Khan just threw away the fight against Garcia, imo.

Once a slick boxer gets into the ring with him, who wants a 12 round decision over him, Garcia is gone. Theophane proved this already.

Baffling that PEDerson still has that belt.

PEDerson could win. He'd at least make it hard.

Matthysse threw away the fight? If Matthysse wanted to throw the fight he would've quit after a couple of rounds with a bad eye. Have you ever tried looking out one eye let alone punch? You're dumb ass hell man.

                  I think so too.

If Peterson can get back to somewhere near his old self he could cause an upset. He's a busy, strong fighter who's probably quicker than Danny.

I somewhat agree. Garcia has improved since that Theophane fight.

A 'slick' boxer would beat Danny. Bradley for example.

Judah did push Danny and those late rounds, if I remember correctly I haven't rewatched that fight, Danny was getting beat up.

I don't think PEDerson beats him though but it's a good fight for Danny.
