I kinda don't mind Wilder being brought up along slowly. It's not like he was gifted a belt and HW's have a longer life span so yea.

And at least it gives the heavyweight division a sort of boogeyman that knocks everyone out..

I would be much more excited for a Wlad-Wilder fight than a Wlad-Pulev fight for instance. I'd like to see what happened should Wilder land on Wlad.

I've noticed that most people 'over-hype' or are highly critical of Wilder. Frequently, I see posts like "yo mane Wilder's garbage, dis kat don't even know how to box." And then there's the other crowd who are proclaiming him the next American hw champ and are ready to throw him in with someone like Stiverne or Wlad.

The truth about Wilder lies somewhere in the middle. He's a big athletic, tall, physically gifted and bad a$$ hw. He still in the development phase but he seems to be improving in boxing skill and hopefully will be challenged by a credible opponent in his next fight. However, the two things I love about Wilder are, his tremendous punching power and his killer instinct. His ferocity reminds me of a young George Foreman - a young bad a$$ black guy who fought with a chip on his shoulder and who wanted to put a 'hurtin' on you.

The jury is still out on Wilder but I think we'll see some good things from him this year. It could be a 'break out' year for him

Right now Wilder is more of a sideshow than a boogeyman imo. I mean, a guy whose best opponent to date is a shot Lyakhovich can only be so scary.

And even if you are not interested in Wlad vs Pulev, Pulev more than earned his shot by today's heavyweight standards. He has fought his eliminators and his opposition, while not that great on paper, has been the murderers' row compared to that of the other so called top contenders.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with that, but should Wilder get a couple of decent wins under his belt, then he'll get some of the boogeyman factor.

So because Pulev has earned his stripes I should be more excited for a fight between him and Wlad? I told everyone from the start that the Wlad-Povetkin fight would be a farce of biblical proportions and it was.

Pulev doesn't have the punching power to hurt Wlad or the skills to outbox him. Easy win for Wlad. At least Wilder has a big punch.

Pulev looked absolutely horrible in his fight against Thompson - so I'm not going to get up for a fight vs Wlad.
