Like a writer on here wrote, it takes a lot to walk away from something you love.

      Good luck to him.

All the best to Barker in retirement. Takes a lot from a boxer to hang them up in their prime.

If I ran this site, posts like this would warrant a permanent ban. What a tw*t.

Back on topic, all the best to Darren Barker, as others have said he's a class act through and through, and has been a great ambassador for the sport over the years. I wish him all the best for a long and healthy retirement.

What an utter tw@. Unlike Barker you actually wouldn't be missed by anyone including your mother.

If Barker was still boxing and you called him a bum I wouldn't mind. Not saying that he is cause he's not a bad fighter. But this was uncalled for. Not the time for stuff like this. I'm pretty sure he needs support at this time not some nobody talking smack.

Sorry to see Barker have to hang em up but at least he achieved his dream and can enjoy his life after boxing in good health overall. Hopefully he sticks around and lands a commentating gig or something.
