the face of boxing is either pretty boy floyd or maybe even jeff lacy in my opinion because i don't think it's tarver.

so tarver wants a big pay day and show people what he is made in the heavyweight division. if he really wanted to, ten he would have taken 60-40 split for the tyson fight, but no, he wants it 50-50. even if he takes the 60-40 split, he will still make more money then he would going up against any other light heavyweight just because he's fighting tyson. i think he just likes to run his mouth an dif it's not tyson that shuts him up, it will be jeff lacy.

      Ahahaha...

Theres NO way Tarver would have stood up to that assault Mormeck laid upon Bell. He landed some very heavy shots that would have iced most guys.

that would be a pretty good fight i like bell. but the person that tarver doesnt want to fight is left hook, that player is for real. so tarver should move up in weight and go after toney, who he'd destroy and dance away from lacy.

jones vs tarver in 2001 jones wins by a considerable amount, not a knockout but nowhere near a close fight. tarver will go down as the guy that beat jones jr then turned hollywood, he'd loose to mormeck, bell and exspecially lacy.
and why would anyone want to see shot tyson fight anyone agian, who did he just loose to, a 7 foot white wall of pudding

Tarver will be fighting the winner of Calzaghe/Lacy.

Tarver is the face of boxing right now whether you guys want to admit it or not.
If Tarver was the face of boxing I would stop watching. Tarver is a walking joke. What is with the light heavy weight division anyway Roy doged people for years and now Tarver is doing the same thing. The light heavy division could be one of the most exciting if they could get a respectable champ. I thought Roy Jones was the **** for years but got sick of the way he would not fight any one and never showed any heart. Then Tarver beats him and I thought "ok its a new devision now". Wrong. Tarver just wants to get payed and fight roy jones every year or two. You cant build a legacy by beating one guy no mater how good he was.

By the way the Tarver vs Jones 3 made me want to puke

Tarver hasn't secured his legacy yet. He only claim to fame is beating a washed up Jones. Next up will be a washed up Hopkins. I heard he's calling out Ali for his next fight....

He needs to beat a real deal, current/future great - not a great on the decline. Calzaghe anyone? Even a rematch with Johnson is better than a Hopkins fight.

Looking back on this thread is hilarious. All sorts of people claiming Jeff Lacy would beat Tarver. I know Tarver's hands aren't as fast as Calzaghe's, but COME ON. Tarver wins this EASILY. The blueprint has been laid against Lacy. Tarver would win the first 8-9 rounds and fade down the stretch, but Lacy wouldn't catch him.

Tarver is a disappointment. Period. All he can do is try to cash in because he can beat a legitimate fighter but can't be a dominant champion and beat everyone.

I saw his fight against Johnson at Staples Center. 10/10 people said Tarver should've won the first one because Johnson does plods ahead and Tarver has enough talent to win.

If Tarver is so talented he should've knockd Glenn Johnson out. Not only did he lose the first fight he almost got knocked down at the end of the second one where Johnson looked sluggish and slow for 10 rounds. Third time I'd say Johnson would win or hurt Tarver. Tarver can hardly handle a B class fighter in Glenn Johnson and couldn't knock out Roy Jones in 3rd meeting.

That's a sad commentary on the sport.
