Former two division world champion Ricardo Mayorga (28-8-1, 23KOs) arrived in Las Vegas, where he plans to live for a few weeks and train hard for his upcoming return to the ring. Mayorga has been inactive since a March 2001 TKO defeat to Puerto Rican star Miguel Cotto. Mayorga then began a career in Mixed Martial Arts, but never found success and finally walked away from MMA after a 0-3-1 record. Now at age 40, he wants to have one final title run. Mayorga is reportedly no longer interested in facing Dmitry Chudinov after the WBA took away the interim-belt from the Russian fighter.

    NVM....guess Chudinov is out.
    Also it's 2011, not 2001

IMO, Hyrunov will give him the fight still. WBA will probably strip Murray and put it up for Mayorga and Chudinov

Wish he could have actually made some noise in MMA but like ive said so many times boxing and MMA are two different animals. No life long boxer is going to go in and run through MMA fighters like no MMA guys can walk in and run through the boxing ranks. Both sports take different hard work and dedication.

I have always loved watching Mayorga. He always comes to fight. Id love to see him get two or three wins before a top notch guy although I can already see Canelo salivating over this fight haha

Mayorga needs to knock it on the head! The bloke takes too many shots and he abuses his body big time. Guess he needs some dollar

Don't think so but Kirkland... Yes, perfect fight for Mayorga all wrong for Kirkland.

                Why not Murray vs Mayorga?
Mayorga's relentless style might just cause alot of problems for Murray especially If we're going on anything with Murrays lackluster performance in his last fight.
