What would you think about no more belts in boxing period?

With all of the various titles and dilution of championship status in boxing the ABC belts really mean nothing. When being regarded as champion is intended to mean you are the best the one and only in your weight class it can be hard to tell but if you follow the sport we all know who the best fighters in weight classes really are anyway.

Why do the fighters even want the belts if it doesn't give them any real status as champion or promise them a great payday even and doesn't it cost them money to hold a title?

Take GGG for example he has a couple straps and even can unify more though he really is not a champion because we already have one regardless of how good anyone think GGG is. Our MW champion is a 40 year old inactive fossil with a bad knee who is on the decline this can't be disputed.

So why not just have a consensus champion who has no pretty trophies d****d around him but is regarded as champion because he has enough credible wins in a given weight class to justify him being regarded as the best by fans?

One belt per division would be good but without any promoter or network ties so fighters would be able to fight each other without any issues regarding who promotes them or what network they usually fight on.

Just the ring champ in each division. Then you could actually be the one and only champion. It's absolutely ridiculous now with like 4-5 titles and super and silver and ring and all the rest.

The Ring could host a poll. Fans worldwide vote on 1 king per division, the winners of the poll are awarded the first crowns, and they must defend the crowns against the challengers who receive the most votes from fans.

It doesn't seem kind of childish that people and fighters who are really just fighting to support themselves and their families cling to the notion of a pretty decorative clothing article having some great value or measure of importance?

I think of have to laugh at the importance placed on it when I think of it that way.
