are we forgetting hopkins couldnt handle dawson? Lets be realistic here, this is just talk, but if they fought hop would be an underdog and rightfully so. Kovalev isnt as one dimensional as everyone is trying to make him out to be. He has good footwork and quick feet. I think hop needs to be choosey with his opponents at this point and hes earned it, hes gonna be 50. Cleaning out the division is bull**** he can spout because the fights will never happen due to the GB and TR beef, and he knows it. As exceptional as he is for his age, hopkins wouldnt be wise to fight stevenson or kovalev at this point. No need for him to take a real bad beatdown this late in his career. Both of those guys are at the top of their game, and hops craftiness can only go so far. His lack of power will keep him from being able to keep either of these guys off of him. Both are stronger and faster then him and both come well prepared and are well trained. I like bhop too, but there comes a point where you have to be realistic. You can argue anything on the internet to no end and without an actual fight, everyone is right. If your going to use who you like or dont like as the basis to your logic in these "conversations", then your merely contributing to the circle jerk that most internet forums have become. Everyones got an agenda, and making logical arguments doesnt seem to be high on most people's lists. unfortunately.

B Hop would beat Kovalev. Kovalev can't box with Hop and he isn't strong enough to rough up Hop. Even at this age Hop beats him.
