I think Holmes got this. Lennox was bigger, stronger and hit harder but Holmes was quicker and far more active.
I can see Holmes mixing it up and brawling if he had to, I just don't see Lewis going down the dark alley. He was a bit like Wlad Klit, jumping back with his hands raised when someone got too aggressive and Holmes, for all his skills could be a real dog in a fight. A lot like his idol Ali.

I think over 12 rounds Lennox could just about edge it but over 15 I think Holmes beats him.
Not sure what difference it makes to Holmes but Lewis may definitely be straining at the end of 12 so I guess the 15 would be harder for him.
Well, since Lewis is used to the 12 round championship system, he would probably fight at a higher pace to what Holmes may be used to in relation to him being used to 15 rounders and trying to conserve energy for the old 'championship rounds', if Lewis would finish him or get a marginal points win it would after or within 12 but after 15 I think no doubt Holmes would take the W.

I have to laugh when guys make hypothetical fights between different generational fighters, then caught up in semantics by saying one would perform differently under round limit to another! Hypotethically if they were to fight then both Lewis and Holmes would be used to whatever limit were in place in the given period! ie Lewis would fight a 15 rounder like he would a 12 and vice versa!! Otherwise it's just illogical...
Regarding the fight, I think Holmes is probably a top three Heavyweight of all time.. I think he'd have to much for Lewis and would be able to mix it up on the inside better than Lennox and would probably stop him in the 10th or 11th round

Hmm, you have a point...but that's the problem with generation comparisons as you say...because for his prime years Holmes generally achieved his best wins in best of 15 round fights predominantly, he would be used to getting himself through such distances while Lennox may have been spent after or within 12...but, I suppose you are right, it gets overcomplicated if some factors like this are counted in.
