Here's mine:
Past- Mike Tyson, Nigel Benn, Kostya Tszyu, Marco Antonio Barerra, Ricky Hatton
Present- Floyd Mayweather, Marvin Hagler, Tszyu, Barerra, Carl Froch
I became obsessed with boxing after seeing Mike Tyson coming through the ranks on Grandstand, then seeing Nigel Benn winning the ABA's on Grandstand. I was quite a big admirer of Tszyu and Barerra circa 1995, Tszyu was showing lot's of good left hand work and Barerra was ripping through everybody put in front of him. I loved Naz, but preferred Barerra and Tszyu because they were much classier. And Ricky Hatton, I loved watching him in his early career WHEN he decided to box instead of brawl. Hatton had a lot of finesse.
These days, Floyd Mayweather is just amazing. Most skillful defence ever, most disciplined fighter in the business today. I recently started watching Hagler's earlier fights, and man, he could actually Box! Hagler was at his sharpest around 1977-78 (when he was a power-hitting counter-puncher). Tszyu in recent years has less activity level, but is counter-punching as well as ever and his laser right hand has been faster than ever. Barerra these days is admirable because he's more of a box-puncher than a sharp brawler - he's punching more accurately than ever. Carl Froch is going to be very hard to beat - blessed with solid chin, swift reflexes and natural confidence. I love Froch's attitude.
