Comments Thread For: Mthalane Pulled From 1/25 Thailand Shaw, Forfeits Title

Moruti Mthalane has touted himself as the only remaining current world champion from South Africa, but that statement no longer holds true.

The long-reigning flyweight titlist is forced to vacate his crown after recently pulling out of a planned defense versus Amnat Reunroeng on the road in ****kok, Thailand.

"He will relinquish the IBF title. We will make an announcement regarding the status of his upcoming fight at home," Thulani Magudulela, Mthalane's promoter told Business Day in South Africa. "We are doing this to assist Mthalane, who has gone through a lot as a fighter earning peanuts.

"Moruti remains the only world champion here, yet he is unable to fight at home." [Click Here To Read More]

    Zou Shiming, here we come!

    But on a serious note...the #1 and #2 are.....nobody.

The International Boxing Federation serves professional boxers and those interested in being members of the IBF.

I still think just about everyone on that list beats Zou.

Mthalane is a talented fighter it's too bad he's isn't really in the flyweight picture right now. And this isn't helping him. He hasn't been active at all but still has some very good wins under his belt and could be a major player at 112, but there's one problem, he needs to fight and now it looks like that's no happening anytime soon.

His string of fights after the Donaire loss was good...but it was 5 in 5 years...wtf?

        Good win over Casimero
