Let me add a question to this thread...what do you guys think it would do for Bernard's legacy if he beat Tarver?

Tarver wins convincingly. B-Hop needs to hang up the gloves. He had a Hall of Fame career (weak competition or not), and he's not the great fighter he used to be. This would be a big payday, so I wouldn't blame Tarver for taking what should be a relatively easy fight for him, but Hopkins should still have plenty of money, so this is a dumb fight for him to take. if he's blown his cash, then he's in trouble, because he's about one more loss away from no longer being a draw.Comment

i guess i don't feel like Hopkins has as little left as most people here think. i don't know, i don't think it'd be any kind of one-sided contest even if Tarver were to win.Comment

I agree, but I don't think Hopkins has the energy to sustain a high enough level of offense for a whole fight against a bigger man. The skills are still there, but the age is sapping his workrate.Comment

that's sure, i didn't consider the size difference. But also Hopkins endurance-stamina comes to mind.Originally posted by oldgringoI agree, but I don't think Hopkins has the energy to sustain a high enough level of offense for a whole fight against a bigger man.
