    Kirkland v Geale

These two are rumored as Golovkin's next potential opponent.

Most of us feel it should be v Geale in Spring but how would a fight between Kirkland and Geale go down at a catchweight and how does the fight go?

Kirkland has an 84% KO record and Geale a 48%

Doesn't need to be a catchweight - Kirkland's fought plenty at MW and even SMW - he is basically a MW who can get down to JMW at this point in his career.

As to who would win - well I'd have to say Geale, assuming he boxes smart and doesn't take too many risks - that said Kirkland is one of those guys who'll punish any mistakes - if Danny doesn't bring his A game he could very well end up on his back. Kirkland has stopped decent boxers before now.

If asked who has the better chance against Golovkin, however, I'd probably say Kirkland - same as Stevens had a better chance than Macklin.

Nonetheless, Geale is absolutely the fight that should be made - the proven MW titlist would do far more for Golovkins credibility, regardless of his lack of US name recognition.

I watched R.1 of Kirkland v Tapia earlier, if JK comes in like that v Golovkin he'd be KO'd early. He'd have to at least keep his hands up v GG. I'm sure he would box smarter.

I think 98% of boxing fans agree on that. However, given that Golovkin fights 4 times a year, it wouldn't be that much of a huge deal if Kirkland came first imo.

On an unrelated note, ever considered getting an avatar Koba?

I would pick Geale. He will weather the early storm and I believe he will outbox Kirkland.

Kirkland's style would not work against any world class middleweight. Geale by stoppage at some point.

Oh bullcrap Kirkland has a better chance than Geale against GGG. Not even remotely.

I'm talking about a punchers chance, Kirkland throws more and has heavier hands.

Neither of them are gonna outbox GGG, but if Kirkland gets lucky or Golovkin gets sloppy, Kirkland has the better chance of landing the KO punch IMO.

I said exactly the same about Stevens and Macklin.
