Most knowledgeable boxing fans know that Mayweather vs Maidana would have been as much a mismatch as Pacquiao vs Rios. Floyd would never have lived down fighting a guy Khan already beat, as opposed to fighting Khan himself. Its only the casual fans who dont know much about the sport which had any interest in the Maidana fight but anyone who has been watching boxing for more than a couple of years knew it was waste of time.

Nah bro, Floyd wanted Maidana. He told Broner to avoid the rematch, and he was dis*****g Khan's "signed contract" claims. However, Showtime have a business to conduct, I'd say they wanted Khan.

I don't know if this is significant, but in the last Al Bernstein Hangout, during a dialogue with Cris Byrd just after Broner - Maidana, Bernstein dismissed very emphatically a potential Floyd - Chino bout ("Maidana would have all kind of problems" against Mayweather, he said) and strongly defended (much like it was a done deal) a Floyd - Khan fight.
