^This is correct. Kobe's knees buckled and his eyes were rolling in the back of his head.

if angulo wins, it isn't a huge upset. anyone who isn't hypnotized by his star power looks and red hair knows he sucks; an average fighter.

No disrespect to many fans, but it still amazes me how little fans understand of the business of boxing.

I agree Canelo was brought up with white gloves. He was seen as a huge star in the making, not because he was just decided to be made, but because of the immense talent he showed early on.

The way it works is that a young fighter shows immense promise. He shows rare ability and skill and then he catches the attention of trainers. He then is taken to a gym, schooled by better trainers, and put through the ringer. If he survives, then they invest in him time, money and the promise of what could be a lucrative career in the sport.

Canelo did all that, he is a fighter, he will fight who is put in front of him and has. The Trout fight was by far his toughest test, a fight many fans and media alike said he would never take. He did and beat Trout. Now it was a close fight, but regardless of the scoring system, the vast majority of people thought he won.

Against Mayweather, he was outclassed by a legendary fighter and best boxer alive. No shame in that and I think learned a lot.

While I agree Canelo isn't a lb for lb guy just yet, he has the potential to be. Don't underestimate the kids ability and dedication. He's no bum, he's a great fighter in the making and this next year will really determine who and what he really is.

Wins WBC 154 title against Matthew Hatton, who never fought at 154 before, at a catchweight of 150 pounds. CaneLOL came in overweight at 151 1/2 pounds. WBC doesn't care.

            Beats 4'11 Alfonzo Gomez.

Beats 700 year old Shane Mosley.

Beats 140 pounder Josesito Lopez who moved up three weight classes in a matter of months.

Wins some kind of WBA belt against Austin Trout, in a bizarre "open scoring" contest in which the judges had Canelo up big early even though it was a razor close fight. No way open scoring effected that fight, right?

Gets massive payday against Mayweather as a result of his "impressive" undefeated record. Loses every second against Floyd.

Gets WBC 154 title shot against Angulo who was just stopped/quit against Lara and previously KO'd by James Kirkland.

The Ring currently has him ranked #1 only behind Floyd, ahead of guys like Lara and Cotto. For what reason's god knows why (well of course we know, Golden Boy).
agreed with everything except lara. hes overrated

canelo clearly has wbc favoritism thanks to his popularity and fanbase. They (GBP) are protecting him for the sake of lining their own pockets. This isnt Canelo's fault, Canelo has stated he will fight anyone regardless of risk.

canelo's situation is very very similar to De La Hoya's pre-trinidad. if you wanna be mad at someone blame GBP

I actually agree with you about his talent, I think Canelo is an underrated fighter, but that doesn't justify this being a title fight. I understand it's "business" but it's a clear case of corruption. Canelo and the WBC are bedfellows and they keep handing him the title anyway they can.

No argument here, but to denigrate the fighter is way off base. Canelo fights who he is told to fight. Contrary to popular belief, fighters don't promote themselves, they are managed and promoted in a very careful way, especially if they are someone who can make them a ton of money.

Canelo is now in position to fight all the top names. We will see what the kid is made of and whether or not he deserves the accolades he has gotten.

Well said. And this fight isnt for a title. Its being mentioned as a potential title fight IF Floyd vacates. Still dont agree with it but it is what it is.

In boxing belts dont mean crap anymore other than negotiations and even then (Cotto/Martinez Pac/Bradley)
