Donaire is a good fighter but let's be real, since he moved up and you could say become more offensive than counter puncher, he has been in ugly or close fights prior to Rigo.

Geale vacated when GGG was mandatory mind you. Feb 2013 if I recall. Only now when he needs something does he come running.

Mora is a possibility but that guy has been inactive from my memory and is **** anyway. Vera level. Make some noise and it could happen. Not even sure who he last fought

No one wants to see Mora fight and he's not a guy any top middleweight HAS to fight. Geale for sure should have happened

We spend a lot of time on NSB discussing contradictions-especially those inolving the biggest names.

Is there anything more contradictory than marketing/promoting a fighter as "the most avoided in the world" while simultaneously not approving certain guys (mora and gaele) and steering guys toward other fighters(ward), for whatever the reasons may be?

You have a point...but Mora is not valid example. If anything, bringing him up weakens your point.

I think it illustrates my point perfectly.

MOra calls him out. Mora would produce an absolutely putrid TV fight in which GGG likely wouldn't win by KO. HBO is giving him a major push and isn't willing to risk GGG not looking good.

Its not just about winning and losing. sometimes its about how you win (ie Broner v Paulie), especially when you are expected to win in dominating fashion to enhance your brand.

GGG needs a big name and good money. Ward is with HBO so it would work in the future. That fight makes sense.

Mora doesn't make sense because his style sucks and he hasn't been in contention lately. Geale would work in an exciting fight but I guess HBO don't think he is a big name. He is only know to me from Sturm so if I don't know then maybe Americans don't.

Wilder and Gary Russell Jr. definitely top the list.

In terms of title holders, you could make a case for Quillin.

Which is a shame because I really like Quillin.
