Into the Future: The Floyd Mayweather Jr. Act

By 2020, the Floyd Mayweather Jr. Act will be introduced. By then, Top Rank won't exist so Golden Boy will have most of the big fighters.

    1) Fighters are to undergo Olympic style drug testing year round.
    2) Fighters are to receive financial advice from Mayweather Promotions/GBP financial expert.
    3) Boxing camps emphasizing defense for every young aspiring fighter.
    4) Fighters are to be randomly weighed in-between fights to ensure they are not fighting too weigh-drained with food and drink intake monitored.
    5) Judges with more than 1 incorrectly scored fight are to be fired.
    6) Mismatches where one fighter is likely to take constant punishment will try to be avoided through extensive research of fighters styles and records.
    7) Medical expertise for head trauma to be available at fighters request free of charge.
    8) A sanctioning body cannot have 2 world champions at the same weight. No interim or diamond belts.

The reason I am calling it the Floyd Mayweather Act is because love him or hate him, he actually does seem to care about the welfare of fighters. He has put fighters on ShoBox and i doubt he is making much from that. He has commented on how he makes sure the fighters under his banner are able to pay rent. He has already made fighters throughout the sport call for stringent drug testing. He emphasizes the importance of not taking punishment.

      9) If you feel threatened by top fighters in your division just retire for 2 years and then come back after they all fight each other and claim you would have beat all those guys anyway. WIN!!!!!!!!!

Like half of that at least has nothing to do with Floyd Mayweather Jr., or are things he has benefited from.

          1) All of Floyd's opponents are required by contract to undergo Olympic style drug testing. Fighters under Mayweather Promotions are required to do the same.
          2) Floyd has invested in property. He has a trust fund for his children. He has said in a recent fight hype interview that he ensures the fighters he promotes are not in debt and are able to pay rent and provide for themselves. He left Bob Arum claiming Arum owes him money. He took a stand by leaving Top Rank.
          3) Floyd has a great defense. He emphasizes the importance of defense.
          4) Mayweather Jr. stays in shape and fights near his walking around weight. He has said Hatton's ballooning in weight contributed to wear and tear on his body.
          5) CJ Ross, the judge who scored the Bradley-Pacquaio fight for Bradley, retired after scoring the Mayweather-Canelo fight a draw.
          6) Floyd Mayweather jr. has said on numerous occasions that "there is nothing cool about taking punishment"
          7) Mayweather Jr.: "There's too many fighters ending up with brain damage."
          8) Floyd: "All this super champion stuff , I'm totally against it."

Mayweather touches on some of these topics:

There would be no more fights because everyone would tell the others,'you're lucky my health come first'.

I can almost guarantee you that Top Rank will still exist in 2020. Arum has carefully planned the companies future after he is gone.

Arum will probably still be alive and ripping off fighters by 2020.

I don't know if you've read 48 laws of power but I think the Mayweather retirement falls under rule 16 use abSence to increase power and respect. it's no different when Jay-Z or Micheal Jordan " retired".

Really who didn't he fight in the welterweight division since he came back Williams / Margarito Williams eventually moved up and Margarito flamed out after the Mosely fight.

If they were true legends they would have still been fighting after Floyd came back and been viable options but I get that it fits the agenda of Mayweather being a scared coward.
